What is going on over there? Des Moines had 4 murders in all of 2007; it currently has 18 for 2017. Its all-time high was 19 murders in 1995 and 1996, during a Chicago-based gang-war.
In fact, a lot of Midwestern cities are seeing record or near-record murder levels - Louisville, Indianapolis, Madison, and others - what is going on?
How are these cities having more murders than they had even during the crack era of the early-90's? Are things really THAT bad? Why aren't the cops doing anything to stop it?
