A few years ago I was looking at some data and formed a hypothesis of my own on global warming. In short, it goes something like the earth is always in a state of rising temperatures, those temperatures affected most by the Sun. In a well documented cycle, very large volcanoes erupt spewing massive amounts of dust into the atmosphere, reducing the amount of sunlight reaching the earth, and causing the earth to cool.

This graph shows temperature, CO2 levels, also dust concentrations in the atmosphere. Look at the pattern.

Ok. That sounds pretty accurate. Could also be entirely solar.
If anything, your graph shows dust concentration increases PRECEDE CO2 and temperature rises.
I don't claim to have an explanation, but it's certainly not that volcanoes cause global cooling.

The cooling effects of volcanic eruptions only last for <5 years before temperatures return to normal pre-eruption levels. There might be some correlation but not enough to completely stop the warming climate.
