We now have legislation preventing criticism of Islam, we have legislation mandating the use of preferred pronouns, several provinces have bans on woodstoves, we have a national carbon tax which is set to steadily increase, essentially unlimited Chinese money flowing into our real estate market, and small fortunes of tax money being spent on each Syrian immigrant
Our most economically significant province just raised their minimum wage by 19%, which means that prices of most consumer goods are going to increase by close to that amount in the next 18-24 months.
Our economy is only being propped up by Chinese money. If the Chinese money stops, we collapse. It's that bad. If the Chinese money keeps flowing, we'll be priced out of the housing market. Not a problem if you're a boomer who owns a house in an area that the Chinese want to buy, but pretty fucking awful if you're 25 and want to buy your first home.
