Guild Wars 2 - the SJW MMO. Homosexuality takes center stage in the story, one of the playable races is pandering to the tumblr gender crowd, edgy fedora atheist cat race, humanity is multikulti of humans, one of the main characters is a cripple (2 others are lesbian lovers). Even my lefty ex got sick of how center stage lesbianism is in that fucking game, oh and they make a big deal of gay pride shit all the fucking time (the company that is).
In contrast World of Warcraft's community is redpilled as fuck outside of that one server where the fags congregate en masse.

I haven't tried out Inquisition yet, but I adored Dragon Age II. The homo stuff wasn't forced on you. You had the option of flirting with the male companions if you wanted, but you weren't forced to. The game had a lot of heart, and what it was criticized for, the smaller world compared to Origins, I actually saw as a positive. I liked sort of being based in the city and watching it change around me with the politics and everything. It tried to do something than the typical adventure RPG its predecessor was, and I respect it for that. It pulled it off.

Your female romance options were limited to Merrill and Isabela, and in both my playthroughs I had to go with Merrill on account of Isabela being a roastie slut. So they had some of the "muh liberated female sexuality" going on, but at least Merrill seemed to be a nice non-degenerate girly girl.

One thing that annoyed me was that my tank had to be Aveline. Oh, of course the woman has to be a shield and sword tank, to show how women are just as physically strong as men of course. We couldn't just relegate them to archers and mages. We need wymmin tanks too. Other than that it was fine.

I was hoping to try Inquisition. Was the PC rot that bad compared to DAII?

Currently replaying DA:O right now since it was only a few bucks on GOG. It's still as great as I remember from '09, but so far from what I've seen, they were really down on religion in the game. Every dialogue option in regard to the Chantry has edgy fedora-tier responses, and multiple of them. Even if you try to play into it, the best you can be represented in the games world is neutral, and at worst you're the villain for having strong religious foundations. I can only imagine how much worse it's gotten in later titles.

When you read the world building of GW2 and then you read the actual how they frame the story for that world it feels like two different people wrote it.

The world was built upon shades of grey; The little rat people being almost apathetic to politics and didn't give a shit about anything. The Charr being a Junta government. Plant people were of the "Bad thoughts are bad and you will be pushed out of the idea bubble if you think wrong."

I was part of an indie rpg -project as a writer and art designer but got kicked out after pitching the revolutionary idea of not adding token 'oppressed minority' characters into storylines they aren't needed. The same was true with CK2. They released a few good DLCs, but eventually they progressed into literal bloatware that destroyed the game and added shit very few people cared about or enjoyed.

I love DLC that lets people opt in but not at the price of quality additions or better sequels. I'd really prefer they return to the vicky 2 or EU 3 style proper expansions.

Sometimes the enigmatic majesty is knowing that you're succeeding something great and ancient. Forerunners were human or something right? They built the halos. That's awesome. Imagination can go wild. The more you pick at and try to explain it, the more trivial it becomes. It loses its grandeur in exchange for familiarity. One the one hand I think the concept behind project Zero Dawn, the state of society/map design and robo monster hunter is really cool, but the dialogue just falls apart and the only decent characters are the guy with the mohawk/handlebars, Rost, Elizabet and the old shaman Nora lady. Aloy's dialogue is just repeating what everyone else said with a question mark after it or some variation of womyn stronk.

Monetizing video games is difficult if you regard it as a similar industry to film, which is itself an increasingly difficult endeavor. My point being people show their interest with dollars. Industry has found out how to keep interest sticking with a stopgap method; dlc, season pass, preorder, etc. These are the easiest methods for them at the moment because there's no competition for the players' interest until they get a sequel or a new one comes out that takes them away.

When a couple of people spending hours in their garage or basement can release a game with graphics and mechanics on par with AAA games, we will know we are in the new golden age of vidya.

I loved prototype
Prototype 2 may seem like it is, but as far as I can remember I don't think it was.

You do play a black guy and the antagonist is a white male, but it isn't swedish marxism levels. Not preachy from what I remember. Worth a play if you enjoyed the first.

My friend sayed they tied alex mercer in well to the story as to how he developed into what he was in the sequel but not playing it for myself I wasn't to sure of how the game was gonna go with the new main character.
