Have you ever been to San Antonio? How did you do last time you visited it?
>>
>>130475918
Anything 2 blocks from the river walk is trash.
>>
>>130475918
Riverwalk was bretty good, New Braunfels was fucking cool.
>>
>>130475918
It's losing its Southwestern feel of tejano.
>>
It was really nice and safe. Why are Texan spics, southwest spics in general so much better than the spics in the rest of the country?

Am interested in San Antonio. Currently a Phoenixfag considering relocating.
>>

Just came back from River Road Camp and going out for some giant pizza at Big Lou's.

Pretty good, desu.
>>
>>130475918
went for bmt and then back again for reasons

the traffic is a nightmare, way to many Hispanics a the riverwalk which was the best place I got to visit was mostly just a lame tourist trap

and the Alamo is overrated

Is that your only option? Texas has a lot of cities and you should probably explore each one and find out what you like the most. You should check out Kerrville (right next to San Antonio) and Fredricksburg (not so far either) to see the beautiful hill country with a bunch of Germans. I've lived in this state my whole life and have gone to most parts and I have to say that the hill country is without a doubt the best part of the state.

It's mexico.

Quantity over quality. Don't know much about the pizza scene in San Antonio but I'm sure you could do much better senpai.
>>
Do the women have big hair in San Antonio? I met some early 20s chick from Dallas and her accent turned my dick rock hard. A buddy moved to Dallas and he said the big haired Texas women rock.
>>
>>130481690
Apparently both are about an hour but there is a lot of small beautiful towns in the hill country other than the two that are of shorter distance.
>>
>>130481928
I want to meet one of them one day. ;)
>>
>>130481875
It was a weekend trip with the family, and so we definetly went for quality to feed us all. Plus, the photo op with giant pizza is always nice to see.

I went on vacation to it this year. Downtown is one of the most beautiful places I've been to when it comes to American cities. Riverwalk is a lot of fun. The Alamo is definitely something everyone has to see at least once.
>>
Only Hispanics welcome in Mexican Bordering states
>>
It's gross here. Graffiti everywhere. Stay out paco
>>
The river walk and the Alamo are the only clean places, everything else is filthy
>>
>>130482208
Would really like to be within 30 min... Any closer recommendations? Keen to be in a comfy little town with rolling hills. Either that or live downtown near the Riverwalk and chase after thicc 21 year Olds in my off time. I have a thing for Latinas so I think I'll do just fine there.

t. A gringo from Arizona who for some reason always dates Latinas.
>>
>72.6% White

Hmm, not too bad for a large city in Texas. But let's take a further look...

>(Non-Hispanic Whites: 26.6%
>63.2% of the city's population is of Hispanic or Latino origin, of any race

Oh.
>>
>>130483457
San Antonio's too big to have anywhere else 30 minutes away from where any sort of action goes down. You could find nice ass neighborhoods in the city though. I used to visit my moms friend who lived in a nice ass neighborhood on this hill with a whole shopping center right outside from it.
>>
>>130483778
I am okay with living in a quiet no action place... And going to the city to have fun. Balance like that is nice for me.

Then again, I'd probably just live downtown first.

Do Texans take kindly to people from out of state?
>>
>>130475918
It's full of short, fat, brown mexicans. Absolutely bottom of the genetic barrel as far as mexicans go, really brings me shame to be mexican when I go and see these disgusting goblins everywhere in San Antonio
>>
Fucking SA. Used to go all the time as a kid in the 80s/90s. Loved it. Many happy memories of the Alamo, riverwalk, etc. Hot as hell in the summer.

Now it's bean central. Riverwalk is still comfy if you're a tourist. But the downtown is filth, traffic is bad. I will sometimes fly out of SA to save some money or go to a concert.

It's a very large city. The science museum and zoo is cool. Some real nice neighborhoods but also some dumps.

The 1st Luby's is there. Earl Abel's closed though. I guess things from your childhood don't stay the same forever.
>>

You see the goblin spics because it's the lower class squat day laborer types flooding in now. Used to be just Tejanos/cowboy types. Obv Mexican's but were respectful and a different type. The upper class white hispanics don't really come here because they have jobs. family, stability in Mexico.

Thanks for the suggestion. Why this area? I like being innawoods and that looks good to me.
>>
>>130487723
Too close to the chemical plants and refineries in Baytown. Can be nice, but the Northside and west side are where it's at. If you go 30 miles from Houston it's 90% white no matter which direction you go.
>>
>>130487723
Ok that doesn't sound bad as long as you avoid most of Houston whenever possible. And yes, the weather is extremely humid. Unless you've been to Florida swamps or the deep south you really have no idea just how horrible that makes hot weather.
>>
>>130487921
The Woodlands (once you get away from I-45) is like a master planned white Utopia. Lake Conroe has the lake, obviously, but you want to be on the west side of it. Conroe is a Mexican shithole east of 45, but west of it it's country living with acreage neighborhoods. You don't want your kids in Conroe schools, you want them in Montgomery ISD. I don't know that much about the South side of Houston but south Houston is Mexican and Galveston is black. I wouldn't want to live between them.
>>
>>130488141
For instance, it's 84 degrees and 100% humidity outside right now and it's 11pm
>>
Any more opinions of SA?

If I visit... where should I go and what should I do to determine the Percentage Ff Population That Are Goblins (POPTAG) ?
>>
>>130487921
The Woodlands are a nice area (my aunt and uncle recently built a new house up there), but are a little too far from the city for my taste. I live in downtown Houston and really enjoy it - there's a lot to do here, and I didn't like constantly driving 40 minutes to come to the city every night I wanted to go out.

I'd recommend living in Houston proper than the suburbs, desu. The safe parts are safe, just don't be a dumbass and walk through the third ward at night.

San Antonio is dope, but I've never lived there so I can't attest to that. I can only speak about El Paso, Dallas, Austin, and Houston.
>>
>>130488422
The woodlands has a lot of bars and restaurants and things to do these days. Basically everything j used to drive downtown for is now available up there. Are you in the heights galleria or rice area? I graduated from twhs, but I don't live in that part of town any more.
>>
>>130483457

>>
>>130479576
Because we get taught respect here.
>>
>>130488357
Yup, and relative humidity increases with an increasing temperature so it only gets even more humid as it gets hotter. I fucking hate humid weather

SA Transplant here...

For being one of the largest cities in the US it sucks for multiple reasons.

1. Looks like shit outside of Riverwalk, Southtown, and the Pearl. People do not want to invest in making the surroundings look nice unless they get gibsmedat money from the local government
2. Ugly AF people. Chicks aren't thicc, they are fat as fuck.
3. Pleb central. It is military city USA. Most people you'll meet in the city are blue collar plebs, militards, or nurses.
4. Terrible dating scene. Do not bother going here if you're in your prime unless you want to be disappointed. All the locals know that so all the talent has already left the area or got married early on.
5. Expensive. Anywhere decent costs just as much as any other big city now. Condos are now being sold for 300k in the city. These prices are not justified except only by cartel money that is flowing in or idiot californians.

Don't waste your time with San antonio. Go to Austin.
>>
>>130489055

>>
>>130479576

The bars and restaurants in the Woodlands aren't very good though. They're fine, but they are typically chains you can find anywhere or just plain mediocre. I'm sure the food scene there will pick up (it is right by Houston, after all), but it's not there yet.

I'm literally downtown, I just moved into the Skyhouse building on Main Street. I'm not using downtown as a euphemism for inner loop lol.

agreed until you said:

>Go to Austin.

Austin is a shit lib town that is 100x worse than San Antonio. Poverty everywhere, liberals everywhere, its basically California 2.

San Antonio is at least a little based in the sense that no one really bothers you. The only thing that sucks is the place is run by Democrats who dont do shit for anyone in the city.

Cant vote them out too because the only people who run are Dems. (Law here saying you are forbidden to show your party affiliation when running for office)

Nope, I'll add it to my list of places to try though. I love seafood, so thanks for the tip.

My favorite restaurant in the loop is Oishii. Good priced, good quality sushi (not master class like Uchi, but inexpensive and still very good). Its not inner loop, but Himalaya is the second best indian food I've had (unexpectedly, the best Indian I've had is at a place called Jewel of India in Santiago, Chile).

Any other recommendations are appreciated. I haven't really tried much of the barbecue in Houston (really only been to the two barbecue joints near my office, both of which are just okay) so if you have any barbecue recommendations I'm all ears.

>>
>>130491436
Oh yeah, love Nico NIcos! I first when there a few years ago during college while I was visiting a friend... I've been back a number of times since.

Oishii is a great deal - their maki rolls are $2.50 and of pretty high quality. Haven't found another place that competes on price and quality at their level yet. They're right by Richmond and Buffalo Speedway.

I wish I could go to Texas A&M, but I missed a year of H.S. (stomach virus that caused IBS, that caused other crap) which ruined my GPA. Now I'm stuck with UTA, and will hopefully be able to transfer to a better univ. since my GPA is a 3.8.

Any conversation about Texas cities inevitably turns into one of four things:

1) General discussion about Houston and Dallas
2) General discussion about how much Austin has changed
3) General discussion about building a wall around California and making the Californians pay for it
4) An El Pasoan insisting that El Paso is cool too and doesn't get enough attention (this is usually me)

Lived here since 1962. San Antonio hasn't grown gracefully and it's crazy overpriced. Taxes are through the roof. Maybe we just don't get out enough, but it's hard to get a decent meal in this town at any price.

+1 on the Conroe/ Woodlands/ Montgomery suggestion. Lots of good food in Houston, it's beautiful, the Beltway is the ONLY way to travel (get a TxTag or an EZPass).
My favorite part of Houston is the Bay Area- esp La Porte & the nicer part of Baytown. Closer to Galveston, things can get a little meth-y.
NW Houston has gotten kinda dicey, crime-wise.

Austin used to be pretty nice, but now it's *extremely* overpriced and since Trump, kind of a hostile environment unless you're an obvious hipster.

My heart will always be in Corpus (heavily Hispanic)/ Port Aransas/ Padre-Mustang Island, therabouts. Crystal Beach (Port Bolivar), too.

San Angelo's nice, but it's small. I think you can circle the city in like, 20 minutes. Kinda stuck in time (which I like).

ps. Most of the people posting seem to have missed the Arabs/ Somalis. I think the Somalis are mostly in govt housing, but the Arabs have all but taken over some areas- residential and commercial.

Hope this helps.
(ps DFW just sucks. But maybe I'm prejudiced. It's soooo tacky and has a much overblown- and unwarranted opinion of itself)
>>
>>130492688
1. My friend just moved out of Houston, so it's going to be a while before I ever go back. Sucks because I spent so much time there as a kid.
2. Austin is unrecognizable. I counted like 8 cranes downtown this week. Wtf
3. Fuck Califags.
4. Only drove through your city one time sir. Could see beautiful texas on the right, and the border wall on the left. Was quite a difference.

Ps your skyline is terrible
>>
>>130475918
South side is Mexican, like ghetto. East side/North East is blacks (NE is the worst) west side is white/Mexican north side is white and upper class.

Rich folk live in the Dominion outside of SATX.

You can hit the attractions in a day (Alamo, Riverwalk and a couple Missions)

New Braunfels is 20 minutes north of San Antonio and has a river(tubing), schlitterbaun(Waterpark) and Caverns to explore definitely more fun of a town.. It's a German town too. Really cool place.
>>
>>130492851

I'm going for business administration though. I plan to become a dual major in both management and financing (or accounting). Afterwards, I'd like to get a degree in some science (probably biology). I was originally going for architecture, but I disliked the work of students, and the intro for the student orientation. They showed tons of modern architecture, which I found to be terrible. I also ran into problem with financial aid because I was still going to a community college, but in order to receive 100% of financial aid, I had to take 12 credit hours at one college, and that meant I would have to have 6 courses between two colleges that were far apart (driving distance). Commute would have been terrible, and the workload for all 6 courses would be exhausting. I can handle (maximum) 5 courses.

UTA is better than TAMU though, unless you mean it's for a specific major.

The biggest plus to El Paso is how much you can do outdoors. The Franklin Mountain State Park is the largest urban nature preserve in the country and has tons of hiking and biking trails, appropriate for all skill levels. Hueco Tanks isn't too far out of the city either. You can even drive a bit and go kayaking on the parts of the Rio Grande with water. This, imo, is the biggest draw to the city for tourists. Its what would bring me to visit if my parents didn't live there.

El Paso's food scene is impressive and very underrated. Ardovino's pizza is likely the best I've had (Via 313 in Austin is close though). Cattleman's Steakhouse is legendary for a reason. A lot of people call it the Mexican food capital of the United States. California can suck my balls and so can the rest of Texas - El Paso's Mexican food is the fucking best, no comparison.

The nightlife is picking up, and downtown actually has businesses and people living there again. Its nothing like what you'd see in any other city, but in a few years it'll have a good party scene. You can also just go to Juarez for a night out, there are plenty of parts of that city that are generally safe now. Just use common sense and make sure somebody with you speaks at least some spanish.

There's enough to do for a solid few days of vacation, especially if you enjoy the outdoors. People looking for more urbane things like clubs and museums are better off in Austin, Houston, or Dallas though.

UTA is an average university and a commuter school. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that it's a bad school, but at the same time, it isn't outstanding. To me it seems very easy for anyone to get into the school, and it also seems like the school is trying to accept tons of students for the purpose of increasing their profits.

UTA currently has over 55k students.

Keller expatriot here. Was a good place. Now it's all traffic. Mother is selling place that was bought for $90k in '93 for $400k+ this year. Taxes are retarded because houses are going for whatever a Californian will pay for them. Lost interest in Keller when I saw that every time a piece of land opened up they plowed it under and put more houses. My mother is on the north side with big lots, lots of trees, quiet roads and no city lights. Not anymore. They also grew towards north Fort Worth and put new homes in the $175k range which brought in all the parasites that could afford 175 but not 250+. Consequently the place is a shit hole and resembles more like north Fort Worth than Keller. Also a lot of apartment. High density housing is the death of a city.

But, it's better than south Arlington where I am now. One block over are all the nogs with their one apartment complex. Looking at the crime map, guess where all the pings are? They flood the local restaurants so you don't even bother going on weekends. My street is safe for now but I'm waiting for them to flood in. Hopefully a housing bubble will pop, I will secure something else, and rent this out like a slum lord.

PS people bitch about "Keller Texas", my mothers home is being taxed ~$6000, I'm at $4500 with a substantially smaller lot and a shit city and school district. Tarrant County is fucked and I hope they reach a point where people rather rent than own so they can go fuck themselves with their unrealistically high appraisals and an Appraisal Board "consisting of fellow citizens as the middle man between you and the county" who say "no, we think your house is equal value to the 2 story home that's 50% more sqft and a pool". Somehow the county managed to find 3 random people who are knowledgeable enough, not working for 3-4 months out of the year so they can do that job, and also being independent from the county, do staff the Appraisal Board. lol

Norwegian living in Houston, my impression of Texas and the cities here:

>Houston
Large as fuck, need car or uber to get around. Living in the Montrose/River Oaks district is pretty nice. It's close to Midtown/Downtown/Galleria. Alot of white people here. I go jogging in the evening at the Buffalo Bayou. Pretty chill place. Nothing really interesting to do except drinking and eating. Some nice museums/NASA, but a couple of days and you're done with that. Black people are generally friendly in smaller numbers.

Galveston:
What a shithole. Shitty beach, spread out place. It does look a bit better as you're driving towards Freeport. It was fun there during Mardi Gras, but with bars closing at 2 oclock it fucking sucks.

>Dallas
Just came from there a couple of hours ago. I was surprised on how nice it was, atleast uptown. Good nightlife and alot of hot girls. Litterally nothing to see there. Saw the Kennedy assasination site then went back to Houston. Probably a chill place to live/work.

>Fort Worth
Went to the Stockyard rodeo. Comfy as fuck, only whites there with some latinos. Friendly southerners who enjoy beer. There was actually some culture there, even tho it's pretty corny. Would recommend seeing.

>San Antonio
It was OK. We had a really nice hotel. You basicly see the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Both are pretty underwhelming. The latter reminded me of the Canary Islands. Very touristy. Pretty good nightlife tho if you knew the spots and have an open mind.

>Austin
Probably the best/worst place to live. Everything is more central and you can actually walk to places. Loads of bars and restaurants. It is a fucking liberal hellhole, but if you can tolerate that it's pretty fun place.

Btw, if anyone wants to know how spics ruin areas, I have a good example.

Northside used to be completely white, middle-class (at the time), etc. and it's now completely Hispanic. There are still traces of the whites that lived here which are scattered around.

I went to a HS here (afterwards I transferred to a diff. HS) and one of the advisers was a grad from TCU, she was telling us about how different Northside used to be, she said that she graduated from the same high school, and said it was common for students there to attend TCU, etc.. I also had an old white lady come up to me once and randomly start telling me about the area, I asked about the racial/ethnic population, and she said that the whole place was white.

Apparently it was a norm for people within Northside to go to HS in the FWISD, and attend TCU, or other pricey universities. I also found some pics about the area in the past, and it was way nice than it is now.

Keller is truly getting flooded by Californians. The Appraisal District is only pulling sale prices and comparing you to them so their only fault is that they don't compare apples to apples and of course they won't know anything about what might be wrong with your home to devalue it. I understand that is your responsibility to convince them of that. However, when they reject the data you bring them to compare apples to apples I can see that be frustrating. I just bought my home and have my appraisal left over from the process. I was appraised at ~188, this tax year they put it at 195. I said pump your brakes fags you need to set it at what I bought it for which is 188 because pro tip: that's the market otherwise I wouldn't have paid it. They agreed but it goes to show how messy their work is; the appraisal dates were actually 3 weeks apart.

The big problem, the Californian and New Yorker problem, lies in the fact that the real estate market is artificially inflated with subprime mortgages, again. My single income should not warrant the bank to offer me a.... $300k mortgage but they were ready. When I told them no I only want 155 they were perplexed and more than willing saying that was easy. Looking at homes you see the tax appraisal value and EVERY home I looked at was at least 20-30k higher than what it was being taxed. My coworker told me to play hardball and offer them what the county appraised them at but according to the realtor "that wasn't realistic" and "the market is hot". So I contributed to the fucki-ness of it all because now my property as I mentioned before will be bumped to 188 (could have been 195) and it WAS 175. Then again, I got the previous owner to leave the appliances and give me a new roof so I feel alright.

I'm trying to buy a house in Carrollton right now and I want to die. The market is extremely competitive and seller advantaged. I've had houses I was interested in get bought up with cash offers within two days of the house posting for sale.

Its fucking insane, but at least the prices haven't skyrocketed too hard in that part. You can still find a 3 bed 2 bath for 220-250k, though from charts just a few years ago it was about 180 for the same kind of houses, so the market has definitely jumped up.

I just want to get my fucking house soon before the prices get too ridiculous.

Native Tejano here. Families been in South Texas for 300 years. Post 1960's Mexican immigrants are giving us a bad name but we deal with ut. Note that I'm not saying us Tejanos are white but we're definitely not like the recent Mexican immigrants. We are of Spanish and Amerindian stock. Take my family for example. Both my grandpas are light brown to dark brown(tanning) with green eyes with my paternal grandpa having more European facial structure/hairy while my maternal grandpa is short-stocky/not hairy/Amerindian facial structure, one of my grandmas is white skinned with European facial structure, and my other grandma is light brown with European facial structure. Anyways not to say whites aren't ruining Southern Texas either. All the recent influx of whites from blue states are ruining the social norms and cultural traditions. Who the fuck do these whites think they are coming into our cities and townws telling us what's good for us? Telling me that I'm some weak victim and if I disagree with them I'm some pawn of "evil" white men?

A few years ago I was visiting a fellow Tejano in San Antonio. It's been a generational tradition that Saturdays his family would get together for carne asada and playing Tejano music. So every weekend the brothers would play the accordion, guitar, and bajo sexto with singing. This recent white transplant from Massachusetts would call the cops every fucking weekend till the family gave up playing because of cop harassment. Never in 80 years of the same family living in the house did the cops ever get called on them. I can deal with the Mexicans because we make them adapt to our culture, then again our culture is very related to Mexican culture. BUT WHITES STAY THE FUCK OUT OF SOUTH TEXAS. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR VALUES, YOUR NORMS, OR YOUR LANGUAGE. MY FAMILIY HAS BEEN SPEAK SPANISH HERE FOR 300 YEARS. Rental shit is high now thus the cash buyers. They will turn around and rent it out for $2000/mo. I just saw a home in Keller listed on facebook for rent for that much... What type of fool would pay that. My mortgage+insurance+taxes are $1200 which is why I didn't get an apartment because with a garage and not being in the hood I would be paying that anyway. Granted I have now accumulated the risk involved too.

Go get pre-approved and pre-qualified. I forget the order but one is like a phone interview and is complete bullshit as far as vetting you financially, the other is an actual review of your finances. With that place and offer and make it known that you won't have ANY problems getting a loan. I agreed and disagreed with how my realtor handled my buy. He pushed me hard to make an offer and give them the $100 good faith deposit or whatever it is. Once they accept the offer then you can fuck around with negotiations and nitpicking what discounts/repairs you want them to make. For me I said you get your list price if you leave the appliances and replace the 20 year old roof that they disclosed. She fought it and I said I'll leave if that's the case and by the way the only seller you will find is a cash buyer because with that roof I cannot get reasonable home insurance which oh by the way is a requirement for a mortgage so enjoy finding a cash buyer. Guess I was playing with fire from the sound of your story. I thought cash buyers for real homes, not shacks, were kind of rare. Usually they're looking for investment properties.

I already am pre-approved, thanks for the advice though. We've got 250k preapproval right now, and plenty of cash to put down. We aren't poorfags or anything.

>>130496958
Same here. Native Texans don't bat an eye but it's always non-Native Texans that comment on it or make annoying faces. I only wear my cowboy hat/boots when at the ranch, at a Tejano or country club, or at wedding/birthcday parties, holidays. I hate the fact that most people think whites were the original cowboys here. The 1st cowboys were Tejanos. While Anglo/German immigrants gave us beer, food, music we gave them the methods of cattle driving, what a cowboy is and wears, water laws, etc. All those Western USA cowboys copied out cultural cowboy norms and methods but mainstream history thinks whites started that.
>>
>>130497758
You should do some reading. The war was short enough that there isn't a ton to read, but was very interesting.

It was very much about how the Mexican government treated the settlers of Texas, whites and hispanics alike.

There's families who have been here since Texas was first founded who are hispanic. Most of them live near the border, but have owned those lands for centuries now.

Growing up outside Dallas, I learned in school that Anglos settled parts of modern-day Texas which was part of Mexico at the time, so obviously they interacted somewhat and traded basic know-how, however I don't remember any focus on who invented particular items, outside the Bowie knife of course ;-) ie Definitely no nationalistic WE WUZ
>>
>>130497505
Most wetbacks are a detriment. The cons outweigh the pros. The neighborhood we live in, which was recently created, is more then half illegal or recent arrivals. They take the lowest wages, commit more crime, spread drugs around, and give us a bad name. Most native Tejanos hate the wetbacks but of course we have SJWs in our families who support them. A few of my relatives married illegals. Am I happy about that? No. But they are now famliy so that's that.

Yup. My ancestors actually secceded from Mexico . We tried to make a country called the Republic of Rio Grande work but Mexicans put down the rebellion. Not enough manpower. My ancestors stayed on the USA side thank God. Most of my ancestors supported the Texas revolution but after it went to shit after. We lost a lot of land(ranches) to the Anglos and in most non-majority Tejano areas were treated as 2nd class citizens. Though I am glad that we still separated from Mexico because if not I'd be living in a 3rd world shithole.
>>
>>130492205
I went to a place in San Antonio that had 100% indians inside. It was pretty good and if you ever make your way to Corpus stop at Kingsville and eat the butter chicken at spice station. It has to be some of the best food on that side of Texas.
>>
>>130497975
>There's families who have been here since Texas was first founded who are hispanic. Most of them live near the border, but have owned those lands for centuries now.
Oh, no doubt, it was a part of Mexico before and I'm not aware of the Anglos ever attacking the Tejanos after the war ended.

Just how it was taught in Texas public schools was heroic Anglo rebels vs. Santa Anna's army from far south of Texas, with the Tejanos being neutral. I'm glad they joined in though.
>>
It's truly truly awful. It's a suburb masquerading as a city (they gobbled up all the surrounding suburbs through annexation, its metro area is tiny compared to the city size). Car is THE only form of transportation. Riverwalk is nice, but over rated. No other good communities.

Culturally its a wasteland. Divided between Hispanics and Christian White people. So there's not much to do. Also the food is so boring. The far majority is tex mex or burgers. Good luck finding Cuban, Russian, Polish or any interesting ethnic food.
>>
>>130498192
hell yeah. though it rarely gets cold down here in deep south texas.

>>130498497
oh there was a huge cultural exchange. when anglos 1st arrive here they had no idea how to maintain cattle or deal with water droughts. the thing i'm most grateful for anglos and germans bringing here is the protestant work ethic. even though we're still catholic we still adopted it.
>>
>>130499494
That's interesting, it makes sense because Texas has a different climate than the part of the US that Anglos settled from.

I didn't know that
>the protestant work ethic
was known outside Anglo culture, and especially that people respected it, glad to hear.

Last time I was in San Antonio I got arrested for being drunk in a bar, in the Hotel where I was paying money to stay at. I was there on vacation, and after they let me out of their shitty SHITTY ass drunk tank, they gave me papers with a court date. I tried to explain to them that I would not be in Texas on that date, but they didn't seem to care. So I tossed the paper in the trash. For a while I kept getting letters at my house saying they had a warrant for my arrest, and that a policeman or Texas Ranger or whatever the fuck would be by my house soon to arrest me, but they never came. Also, they stopped sending the letters.

The entire fucking thing was bullshit. I did not get into a fight, I did not yell at anyone, I did not piss out in public. I was with my family, having a few beers at this piano bar at the Hilton on the little river thing they got there. Suddenly and without warning, or provocation a bouncer came up to me and told me to "get the fuck out of my bar" at that moment I got a bit pissed, because there was 4 of us there, and we were staying at the Hotel. So I told him to "fuck off, make me" then they called the cops. The cops came and cuffed me for no fucking reason. When my family tried to get them to stop acting like assholes, they threatened to arrest them as well. So, I'm sitting there, being detained, getting searched and I think the cops realized that I was not a danger, or even all that intoxicated, and my family was there watching the entire thing, and decided to cut me free. But right before they let me go the cop looked at me and said "this bar is property of Hilton, and this entire section of the riverwalk was the property of Hilton. I don't want to see you on any Hilton property again" to that I replied "But sir, I'm staying at this Hilton" I guess that was enough to say fuck letting me go, and he took me to the drunk tank.

0/10 would not/did not visit again. My only regret is not pissing on the Alamo while I was there.
>>
>>130500458

what are the gun laws like in SA / Texas?

In AZ it's anything goes except
>not in school zones
>not in government buildings (free lockers must be provided to gunowners though)
>not allowed in bars
>not allowed in restaurants without CCW permit
>may or may not be allowed in universities, I can't remember
>allowed anywhere else in the entire state
>>
>>130502689
You'd have to look them up as I don't carry

There was a big stir in Texas recently over gun laws though. We passed something forcing public universities to allow concealed carry. Liberal-run unis like UT shit bricks, and they did the pettiest shit to make the law useless anyways. Like not allowing guns to be stored in dorms (where most university students live)
