It isn't. People who believe that are really stupid.

After World War II most of the world was in ruins only America of the developed world remained untouched and functional for mass industrial production, that's why even average Americans in the 50s/60s were so rich and lived good.

As for the world leader type, it's also connected to WW2. Before that Britain was the leader and held half the world as it's colony. America after the war made them relinquish the colonies. Also after WW2 the dollar is made as a reserve currency, that means every country in the world had to have dollar reserves which they could trade for gold.Americans cheated hard on this and couldn't pay countries that demanded their gold from the dollars that America overprinted. Later this scheme was replaced by the petrodollar

Anglo ideals, followed by a century of expansionism then isolationism. Created a large self reliant nation with a stable government. Deliberately entering WW1 and WW2 late to economically cripple the former world empires. Left the US the most powerful nation in the west, Anglo ideals also proved superior over the Soviet Russian ideals, leaving the US the most powerful nation in the world.

Suffered the least during both World Wars, and was in a position to exert influence over much of the other first world post WW2 (Marshal Plan, NATO, etc.) One of the largest national landmasses in the world, with a single state rivaling the entirety of western Europe. Lots of resources, lots of population, lots of industry, lots of food production.

TL;DR we came out of WW2 the best out of all the first world nations and we leveraged that into global hegemony
