One of the main reasons for leaving Germany is because you cannot make it in Germany because of our fierce competition.

America takes every idiot who pays money based on loans. Germany actually only selects the best for many degrees and especially for advanced degrees.

Not even kidding. Studying medicine is virtually impossible in Germany unless you are the best of the best.

If there were conservatives running the EU and actually designated its policies towards helping out Europeans instead of demographic replacement, I'm sure his tune would change.

That is why Americans will never succeed in serious tech. If it can't be done by a few boyz in a garage in a few months, you do not like it.

So you rather go for the meme tech "start-ups" than real tech. That is why you shill about "muhhh, Thorium reactors" when it comes to fission instead of real 3.5 and 4.0 gen fission power based on good old uranium.

If you look around advanced fission tech and fusion tech, it is all done in Europe, Russia, China and Japan. America isn't anywhere in any of this tech. You are too busy building pipelines from Canada and poisoning your water supply through fracking.

Quite honestly, for the size and wealth of America, you should be far more competitive.

I am not saying you don't have some capabilities, but there are really a lot of basic shortcomings in many areas. And they are routed in your mentality of "cutting corners" and in your lack of training of skilled workers. We have a well funded apprenticeship system and our workers are highly skilled with a solid school basis. And engineering at university is one of the key areas we focus on. I read a statistic recently that in the UK there are 3 times more students in liberal arts than Germany, but only 40% as many students in engineering. I assume the ratios are about the same for the US.

There are ostensibly thousands of American fusion researchers - and dozens of European and Asian researchers who specifically come here to do research at our facilities. My department has a fusion guy originally from Max Planck working in the office down the hall from me - I hear he's applying for permanent residency here in the states.

More competitive than what? The US already out-competes Germany on everything, to the point where Germany has to rely on EUR:USD valuation fluctuations to get American market share. It seems clear to me that you abstract away the economic structures of both Germany and the US to make some weird stand about engineers per capita. But the economic structure of Germany was intentionally designed to crank out engineers whereas the US really doesn't try to push for specific outcomes. That would be the difference in education standards between a coordinated market economy (CME) and a liberal market economy (LME.)

The EUR-USD exchange rate has fluctuated widely in the past decades. See attached.

Our trade surplus with the US has constantly increased... which invalidates your theory.

German products are high tech market leading products. The price for these products aren't the key factor to buy them.

That might be the case, but it took us more than 100yrs to get to where we are now. Even a fast tracked version of implementing the Trump apprenticeship program would take at least 20-25years to make a significant difference on a manufacturing level.

US BTFO.

Tokamak:
>technical simplicity - Mericunts are dumb
>Normally, atoms which fly around in a ringed tokamak collide and scatter. They are like runners on a track which bump into one another. As they collide they scatter to the outside. They can then collide with the wall - leading to mass and energy loss. Wall collisions also drive cold "junk" off the walls and into the plasma - eventually cooling it off.

Wendelstein X-7:
>It can limit scattering by continuing to drive the scattered plasma back into the center (via their twisted shape). --- efficiency to generate more electricity
>It can operate in steady state instead of pulsed
>technical complication - Only Germans can handle it cuz they are autistic

Because the USD is the global reserve currency so the US sustains permanent, increasing trade deficits against most countries because the USD facilitates value retention:

>Germany trades shit to Fredonia, increasing its trade surplus by 5 Euros
>German manufacturers trade in 5 Euros worth of Fredonian francs for Euros at their bank
>German bank trades Fredonian francs to Bundesbank for Euros
>Bundesbank purchases 5 Euros worth of T-bills from the Federal Reserve to meet its inflation target
>US-German trade balance has changed by 5 Euros even though the US wasn't even in on the trade to begin with

in Tokamak research reactors... stellarators are amazingly stable. Watch the video, towards the end the dude shows graphics of the first continuous shots at X-7. Amazing compared to JET etc.

The interesting thing is that Spitzer in 1951 predicted it to some degree. He said plasma instabilities (he did not know about turbulences) would render the Tokamak design infeasible. He was sort of right. His stellarator design weeds out the instabilities and allows for smaller, much better confinement.

Compact stellarators combined with nitrogen cooled HTS that are becoming available as we type, are going to be huge.

The demand for foreign assets part for the USD is true as well, and is probably the primary reason we (are able to) consistently run trade deficits.

Why are you completely ignoring the chart? We are currently in the middle of the 30yr trading range - that includes 15yrs of no-Euro D-mark and 15yrs of Euro.

The Euro is undervalued compared to 2006-2010, but overvalued compared to 2000-2006 and in line with the 1990s.

Euro was launched in 1999 IIRC, so you'd be talking about 18 years of Euro and 9 of dmark. The initial period of weak euro was, I think, largely to due some level of uncertainty about the whole thing. It has never been attempted before so many investors (even Europeans) would be skittish about keeping too much of their portfolio in euros.

I'm talking about how the euro is valued relative to a counterfactual 2017 where national currencies were maintained, we would expect a lot of appreciation in this counterfactual dmark since 1990 from Germany's real growth during this period relative to other countries.

Straight from the wiki article on the euro:
>According to Krugman, during the period between the creation of the euro and the 2008 financial crisis, countries of Southern Europe experienced abnormally high rates of wage growth due to high influx of investor money. Between 2000 and 2008, unit labor costs actually declined slightly in Germany, but rose by 30% in Spain and Greece.[110] This created an imbalance that put these countries at competitive disadvantage relative to Northern Europe. Returning to full employment at this point requires that the labor costs gap is somehow cancelled out. If Spain and Greece had their own currencies, this would have easily happened through exchange rate adjustment. Since they don't, it can either happen through a decrease in nominal wages in Spain and Greece, also known as "internal devaluation", (an extremely difficult and slow process, since nominal wages, in general, exhibit downward rigidity), or through an equal increase in nominal wages (i.e. inflation) in Northern Europe, which does not happen because of active resistance from Germany.

This depreciatory pressure from Southern Europe is what makes the euro artificially weak (for Germany). The US can handle regional differences more smoothly since we have higher labor mobility across regions.

Well considering how inept America's government agencies are I doubt they'll be any good with what information they have.

Besides, Germany is a joke. They're not going to achieve nuclear fusion - especially as they had to be given nuclear fission since their people are so retarded.
And, in terms of power - America and Britain are much more powerful than Germany.

I mean, people will move away from Germany - because even if it's not filled with muslims, it's filled with Germans which is equally as bad - but they will move to the East.

Tokamaks have already been stable for minutes. Moreover what he calls plasma current doesn't look stable to me but what do i know...
The problem with instabilities is that they can solved on one scale with adequate magnetic fields, but once you do that, new instabilities appear on smaller scale or longer time scales .
It's a never ending problem

No, it didn't, Einstein work has nothing to do with radioactivity, it's Curie and Rutherford work that opened the field and Frisch basically formalized the concept of fission.

Stop being retarded and actually open an history book, the only role of Einstein in this story was warning the americans that the germans could develop such weapon which opened the Manhattan project.

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but fusion isn't the future anyway, and even if it were it's still several decades away from supplying any meaningful amount of energy to the people. Until then, enjoy bending over for putin's methane.

And lol at your Syria pipeline plans... That's been working out great for you, desu...

6 seconds, actually. Soon 30 min. If you can do 30min, you can do forever. The limitation on 30 min is due to the liquid helium required for cooling the superconductors. With HTS becoming more and more available, they can switch to liquid nitrogen as the cooling system at much higher temps ... which will mean a smaller device and easier cooling and continuous ops.

>>130391167
>Tokamaks have already been stable for minutes.
Please, when? Not at the levels required. Look at JET. A total of 6 shots of DT fusion many years ago and that was it. Nowhere near minutes, but even less than 6s.

>>130391167
>Moreover what he calls plasma current doesn't look stable to me but what do i know...
Do tell then. Compared to tokamaks the X-7 plasma confinement and stability is incredible... even better than hoped in our wildest dreams.

Everyone ahve been developing fusion since 60s. First fusion reactor was built in 1957 in Kurchatov Institute near Moscow. Even name of technology "tokamak" means ""TOpoидaльнaя КAмepa c MAгнитными Кaтyшкaми" (toroidal'naya kamera s magnitnymi katushkami) — toroidal chamber with magnetic coils;

I like it precise. 6s is on left column and it states "low temperature " IIRC. On the right it's 1s at high temp.
why this difference? I can only guess, but from what I know it's because it's much more unstable at high temperature / pressure.
Moreover, I can also guess that if they could present stability over 2 seconds, well... they would!
I don't know much about stellarator, you're right. But the stability problem MUST appear in stellarators. And the difference between seconds and minutes and absolute stability means everything! No one working seriously on these technologies will tell you "we can do 6 seconds at low temperature, but soon we'll do 30min at high temperature no problem!"
