Some of them are pushed to do it by their family I guess, I don't know about the ones that aren't though.

Solid career choice if you serve till you get your pension. Wasting your life if you're enlisted and not going in as a CO though. Aside from that it's a respectable job and one where people make decisions for you so if you don't know what to do with yourself it's a good option
