Looking to spend like 200$~ on books, anyone have any suggestions?
there are easier ways to seem "smart" than to have a bunch of books around your house

Just read the classics online. Get new books from the library. Listen to audiobooks on youtube. If you spend money on books make sure it's not available elsewhere first.

Do you have to actually read the books or just understand the concepts? I took an Intro to Political Theory course that studied Plato's "The Republic", Machivelli's "The Prince', Hobbe's "Leviathan", Locke's "Two Treatise's of Government", Marx's "Das Kapital", Rouseau's "The Social Contract", Thucydides's
"History of the Pelopennesian War", as well as Tocqueville's "Democracy in America" (the professor of the course was actually a leading expert on Tocqueville), Cato's "Virtues", as well as a 20th century economist that I forget the name of who was pretty similar to Keynes.
Anyway I got an A in the course but I never once read out of any of those books. DO I have to go back and read them or can I continue on?

Why isn't Mein Kampf included? Wasn't it more or less the manfesto of National Socialist Germany, making it a hugely influential work of literature for that political theory?
