West Texas is nice. Feels like being in Red Dead Redemption. Avoid Marfa unless there's a specific event that you'd want to see. Alpine is a nice town. The Gage Hotel in Marathon. Actually, driving in a big loop from Alpine to Marathon, then through Big Bend Park and into Terlingua, then back up to Alpine. That's a nice drive. Ft.Davis and the McDonald Observatory.
