I think most centrists fall into two categories. the first is made up of conformists who think being in the middle is the best way to not rock the boat. most of them end up actually being leftists since they're easily influenced by typical leftist persuasion tactics. the other group is people with vague ideas of "how things should be," but without any ideological basis they end up with conflicting and incompatible opinions. you can get these people to agree that high taxes are bad, but at the same time they'll argue that welfare is a right.

The way voting usually goes is that each candidate on each side has a view key issues they side on and makes it their banner and gather followers.
