The one and only advantage McGregor has is that there are plenty of fights he can watch to study Mayweather while there are only MMA matches for Mayweather to study him. After winning two belts in UFC he tried to hardball Dana White for a bunch of money for fights going gorward, and used the threat of getting into boxing to make money in his negotiations.

McGregor couldn't get what we wanted for the time being from the UFC, so he did go to boxing, and now the boxing people see dollar signs when they look at McGregor. Boxing will need a popular superstar to bring in those PPV dollars. Conor is young enough that he could be making them rich for 10 years. Mayweather is going to retire after this fight, and he will be the new king. You simply can't discount the possibility of rigging.
I am waiting for the odds to get to +1000 before I place a large bet on McGregor to win.
