In my case, my parents just made sure I got good grades and didn't pay attention to anything else in my life. When I left my family right after high school I learned a lot of stuff, including weightlifting and talking to women. Didn't bother pursuing education until later and I was a hell of a lot more happy because of it. I am doing a PhD in an associated area. The idea that high IQ people tend to be social retards is incorrect. IQ DIRECTLY scales with all skills, social or otherwise. People with very high IQs tend to have better social skills than people with lower results, be better co-ordinated, be better at music, pure logic and life generally.

That said, high intelligence (which only occurs with any frequency in men) is probably the result of multiple recessive gene being activated, and the cost is increased mental illness: autism etc, depression, schizoid tendencies, schizophrenia.

The meme of high IQ virgin nerds exists because a high IQ autism nerd is a stand out noticeable thing. Most people with high IQs get more benefit from their being good at so many things than they lost due to the associated increased risks of mental illness

To be serious though, people with higher IQs tend to be hyperaware of things. The fact one or two bad experiences, such as socially, can be engraved in your mind can also lead to unreasonable anxiety at times. (like being too nervous to game women)
They also think more robotically, and end up focusing more on other things such as what they study. It makes sense, evolutionarily speaking, since those with a higher IQ may have obtained better resources on their own instead of requiring help from others. My dad has a higher than me and is even less socially adept, but he was able to maintain high level positions with the people he worked with.

Intimate relationships aren't worth the trouble if you sit back and weigh the pros and cons. I've seen dozens of married couples dump countless time and effort on their relationship only to have it result in a divorce. Even the positive outcome of a marriage doesn't seem to be worth it to me. A relationship like that is a time sink that only exists to keep you from feeling lonely and to create a tiny half clone, which is another time sink.

Loneliness and emotional security are purely psychological. You can actually combat loneliness or feelings of worthlessness with your mind. You can train your own emotional or physiological responses over time so that there aren't even negative effects from living a single life.

I'm a guy who is above average attractive, like maybe a 6 or 7 and have a lot of friends, but I avoid having close relationships with women. If they attempt to turn our relationship into a romantic one I usually react by completely dismissing them and cutting them off as friends. I've also thrown phone numbers from hotties in the trash.

I do know that this sounds like I'm describing schizoid personality disorder or some other mental disorder that causes people to avoid relationships, but these choices are ones that I have spent a lot of time considering and rationalizing.

Very intelligent people tend to, naturally, form a different worldview than less intelligent people, and not believe in the same things or find the same things interesting as the majority. Because you're conflating IQ with knowledge. Virgins are virgins because they are sexually and thus socially undesireable, they're ugly. While social isolatated they gravit towards instrospective hobbies such as studying or nerd stuff because that's all that lasts for them. This way even if they have low IQ they seem to be more intelligent because they focused so much in those areas while other people where socializing. Most of them only look intelligent when in fact they only have vast knowledge on the subjects that they are interested in. Real high IQ people on the other hand are introspective and interested in the things they are because they crave realization of their full potential.

I scored in the 98th percentile on the PSAT and was actually given an infant IQ test which is mostly stimulus response, recognition.

The thing about the PSAT though was I took it upon myself to finish first.. I checked this by looking around the room when I decided I had finished each day and saw everyone else still working ..

The way I did the test was I asnwred everything I knew instantly and anything I didn't know right away I passed and went on then when back and spent a smal amount of time on the unanswered questions and so on and anything I knew I didn't understand the way to the right answer I just chose my best guess. I could have tried longer.. I finished hours before the time ran out each of the five days and still scored in the 98th percentile.
