A new UN report is highlighting the immense suffering caused by the financialization of housing.
The amount of money involved in the purchase of housing and real estate is almost impossible to digest but one thing is certain, it is lowering the quality of life for everyone not riding the bubble.

>In “hedge cities”, prime destinations for global capital seeking safe havens for investments, housing prices have increased to levels that most residents cannot afford, creating huge increases in wealth for property owners in prime locations while excluding moderate- and low-income households from access to homeownership or rentals due to unaffordability. >Those households are pushed to peri-urban areas with scant employment and services.
>waiting for Canadians to defend this shit

They just saved home capital group from insolvency
The bubble will never pop

/pol predicted that would happen months ago.
The bubble causes suffering of canadians, in that way it might be considered good by some.
Here we go. Free housing for everyone. Socialism creates just as many have and have nots than any other governmental approach if not more. At least we have a shot at making our lives better.

canadians are being driven out of house, home and city by the chinese money fuelled bubble.
22 percent of canadian children live in dire poverty. 'Food related stabbings' are up several hundred percent since 2010

there's no defending it. it's awful. it's really bad up in BC and it's spreading down into washington state.
the really shitty thing about it aside from the horrendous amount of traffic it creates around the i-5 corridor is the fact that it's driving poor niggers and other muds/mudslimes out into the surrounding suburbs and shitting them up too.
i'm over an hour out of seattle and the housing market even here has dried up and costs have gone through the roof. in the wake of the real estate collapse, everything was bought up by those with means, mostly rental conglomerates, which further fucks things and destroys housing values when the neighborhood is full of renters that don't give a fuck about the property they are squatting on. if i hadn't been set and survived it I would be living hand to mouth compared to how i am now but i still have hugely diminished ability to relocate unless i jump states.
really what they need to do is force the chinks out of the market. they are buying up real estate globally wholesale before their own real estate bubble bursts.

You can check the /pol archives and see canadians defending their chinese money bubble like it is a good thing.
It's insanity.
