/pol/'s opinion on human activity leading to a increase in which the rate of the global average temperature is rising?

Do you acknowledge that humans have released a substantial amount of carbon dioxide in the last 300 years into the atmosphere which has trapped energy from infra-red radiation leading to higher temperatures than what would have occurred naturally?

Ignore all the other climate change alarmist, Al Gore bullshit. Idc about the solutions here

>Humans have released alot of C02
Yes we have doubled the amount in the atmosphere.
>This has an warming effect and impact on the average climate
Most evidence points to this conclusion, yes.
>We can accurately determine what is natural processes and variation in the current climate trends versus human activity
Nope
>This warming trend will be cataclysmic and dangerous
Probably not, the planet is getting more fertile and greener from higher average temperature and abundance of C02.

1.human activity doesnt lead to a significant increase in the global average temperature due to CO2 emissions.
2.Humans havent released a substantial amount of CO2 into the atmosphere. Its a tiny fraction and statistically irrelevant.
3.Changes in GMT occure due to natural causes especially sun activity.
4.Other than building Alien type atmosphere converters there is nothing humans can do about the climate
5.The climate warming from the beginning of the 1850s has stopped now and is reversing itself. The planet will cool instead of warm.SC 24 is the extremely weak.Expect a Maunder minimum any time.

If human caused climate change exists and its not just a cycle, we're totally and completely fucked.

The change occurred because of industrialization and the exponential growth of human population - most of the third world barely can afford cars and food yet. The only way to reverse it would be to technologically across the board go carbon negative(extremely expensive and hard) and fucking kill off 99% of the planet. That's unfeasible, so hip liberal progressives bitch about oil and wanting to regulate its production so a country with /no/ regulations fills the gap. The whole bitchfit about climate change is ridiculous, if its real we're doomed, if its not real its nothing. Just shut the fuck up.

anyone who thinks you can increase concentrations of CO2 by 40%, CH4 by 150% and N2O by 20% and have nothing happen is an idiot

DAILY REMINDER

* A doubling of preindustrial CO2, absent any feedbacks, would result in a maximum forcing of +1.2C.

* The General Circulation Models, and the IPCC, predict 2-8C of warming because AGW theory assumes a positive H2O feedback. They assume that if CO2 causes a little warming, the atmosphere will hold more water vapor and that more water vapor will lead to a lot of warming.

* The warming predictions cover such a large range because everyone assumes a different average H2O feedback rate.

* Every GCM based on this assumption has failed to model temperatures for the past 17 years. They are all trending too high.

* In the late 1990's the modelers themselves stated that if they missed their predictions for more then a decade that would falsify AGW theory.

* There is no data to suggest a +H2O feedback either now or in Earth's past.

* If there is no +H2O feedback then we literally have nothing to worry about.

* The average climate change believer knows none of this. Politicians, citizens, activists, surprisingly even a lot of scientists are literally ignorant of the theory and the math. In their mind it's simply "CO2 = bad" and "experts say we're warming faster then ever."

daily reminder that people who keep posting that copypasta are babbling idiots who have no idea what they're talking about.

People from fields afar as volcanology, geology, atmospheric physics and (paleo)climatology have looked at this from all different angles and all their conclusions converge around 3°C.

Good luck trying to explain the temperature evolution of the Cenozoic with a CS of 1.2°C

How many of you fucktards realize Earth isn't the only planet to be an insignificantly amount warmer right now?

And how many of you fucktards realize the Paris agreement would have done jack shit in 100 years and technology will have solved your worries or killed us all in less than half that time?

It was probably zero. Zero fucktards.

But by all means keep hyperventilating over it, what your doing is super important.

Not too concerned about this whole climate change.
But these warm winters really suck.
I can confirm that winters have gotten really warm in the past years and it doesn't snow clearly as much.
the temperature rarely gets under -20C anymore in the south. The climate is clearly changing and has few drawbacks but warmer summers are nice too.

Fun fact:
Cities are warmer than natural environments. The stone used in their construction absorbs heat during the day and radiates it during the night.

What if there was human-made global warming, but it was because of the high ability of rock structures to contain heat?
>>
>>130263651
PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency conducted a survey in 2015 that found that only 43 percent of climate scientists believe in man-made climate change
>>
>>130263955
The pollution is India is mostly done by US based corporations. And the US military pollutes more than China and India combined
>>
>>130270083
Its actually the darker materials that absorb more heat by not reflecting much radiation back away from the planet.

If you really want to lower global temps by a degree you could paint everything white.

at best that hypothesis could explain a rise in surface air temperature over parts of certain highly urbanized landmasses (like Europe or parts of North America), but it cannot explain why the Arctic is the fastest warming part of the planet, why the Troposphere is warming, why continents with little urbanization (Australia, interior of Asia, South America,...) are warming, why the shallow ocean is warming, why the deep ocean is warming and why the Stratosphere is cooling.

Those were the problems with that explanation just on its own terms. However, both NOAA and Berkeley Earth have looked at the urban heat island effect and have corrected for that in their instrumental record and they still recover a clear warming trend for the past decades
>>
>>130267757
This is the correct answer. But keep in mind that we are on a board filled with people who watch Fox news and InfoWars on a regular basis.
>>
>>130263651

Of course

It makes sense

Even if you were to forego the whole greenhouse gas theory, there is stilll a significant heat dispersal in any kind of human industrial activity

It's not called the "combustion engine" for the lulz you know..

And then there's pollutants, which are a different ballgame altogether.

It's not random that western society puts catalysts on cars and lorrys and particle filters on diesel veichles. Or that factories need to have high-voltage dust-filters on their smokestacks.

And then there's animal husbandry, which is covered by a shitload of rules as well, because metric tons of animals shit+piss will fuck up rivers and lakes and kill fishes and make the water smell funny.
