Everything including the conversation was like that until he settled down and told me that I fit the PROFILE of a drug runner because I drove my BMW too carefully (looked suspicious). He asked if I had drugs in the trunk - no. He asked if he can look. I said I don't consent to a search (means he needs a warrant). I simply respected the AUTHORITY and didn't treat him like a dick (even though he WAS) answering his questions but not offering him any reason to elevate the "threat level".

Perhaps the truth is something more in line with what many anons around these parts posit.

When the first words out of someones mouth upon being pulled over are antagonistic, it places the officer in a defensive position.

Many (not all) police officers have inferiority complexes, (the thing that drives them to be in an authoritative position in the first place) and tend to lash out because of this. That thought, in tandem with the fact that many police departments tend to hire people of average inteligence, (as highly intelligent officers threaten the chain of command) sets you up for dangerous scenarios.

Now add that into the modern political climate, and the fact that statistics show that poor people, (often lumped into "people of color") commit far more crimes, it becomes a perfect shit storm of the proverbial "Nigga Moment". in this case, being antagonistic about rights, is improper behavior. If the police officer wants to arrest you for nothing, quietly comply, and if he does, call up a lawyer at the aclu and enjoy your free payday and the police officers suspension/termination.


tl:dr, Fight the officer about your rights, end up shot in the chest. If they're in the wrong, let them take you in, call a lawyer and sue the city.
