Who is the philosopher of /pol/?
>>130212600
Elliot Rodger
Diogenes

/pol/ is too powerful to have any one philosopher.
The man himself.

Any philosopher that bases his philosophy on complaining about jews, niggers and women would definitely be our guy

Agreed. It's proto-fascist.
It's actually what made me believe that fascism is inherently natural and anything inherently natural is good.
Immanuel Kant
>>130212992
this, he is THE philosopher
>>130214096
Not all that is natural is good, but all that is truly good is inherently natural.
The dynamic of man and woman forms the family. Two individuals now collectively belong to and possess something, a family. This concept naturally arises from the union of two individuals. Each sacrifices something for the mutual benefit of the other, and for their children. So too does tribe, neighborhood, and community at all levels arise from a natural relationship between smaller units. There is always inherently a hierarchy among these groups, and that hierarchy is visible in the structure of a Fascist state.
The individuals know their responsibilities, they have purpose, and duty in life.

ITT 14 year old alt right trumpweenies who think they are smart and clued up on philosophy because they have an unopened the republic and read a Wikipedia page on Plato.
The only true answer is if you are one of the authoritarian posters (fascists, monarchists, statists, communists), here on pol your man is Thomas Hobbes. If you are a liberatarian poster (ancaps), your man is John Locke.
Please stop posting le Plato is red pilled meme, its basic and its like equating toddler level mathematics with quantum physics and stellar solid state chemistry.

Why are people in ancient times depicted as slightly athletic? I know for one they were obviously more active and didn't have so many sedentary activies back then. But the food today is full of hormones and people are bigger in weight and height than before. Was this just the norm of portraying people for artistic reasons?

Do you have a family photo album to look at?
Mine is pretty consistent. Chubby youth. Lean healthy looking adults, not really muscular. Often older people were getting fat, maybe wasting away, but they didn't care because they were happy with what they accomplished. Lived longer than average.
Obviously the statues depicted ideal people to mire. It's supposed to be a public agreement on what we should aspire to be to, even if we're just commoners anyway.

Aristotle held ethnocentric views and he influenced sciences which would then be why we have knowledge on genetics, very important stuff. I think he is the guy. He said that tolerance and apathy are the last virtues of a dying society, would not a lot of people on here agree with that statement?
I prefer Hume, myself.

>>130219685
unironically this.
The concept of the ubermensch, who casts aside the public decries of morality and instead paves a path because he believes in it's virtue. A man who doesn't feel sorry for his own strength nor is above doing the inconsiderate for the progression of a higher goal. That was one of the most /pol/ philosophies I had ever read. Most /pol/acks are trying to become the ubermensch by this definition even if they don't realize it.

I'm a lover of Kant but he is not the right kind of philosopher for /pol/. You can't square the Categorical Imperative with supporting fascism. Libertarianism yeah but not NaSoc.
>>130222667
> he believes in it's virtue
This is just more moralism and a typical misinterpretation of Nietzche.
Nietzche is the philosopher that /pol/ needs, but not the one it has right now.

>>130223465
The ubermensch is not lacking a morality, if an internal code is what you define it as. He lacks moralities which derive from the herd and predicate action based upon a black and white "good and evil" which is predetermined. Nietzsche didn't think the death of god was a bad thing per se, he just correctly understood that most people would have trouble without a unifying objective morality, and this would spill out into their actions and the world around them. He figured that in their absence people would be unable to make their own path and instead look to build another God out of some other ideology. Feminism and the current degeneracy of the West are some prime examples of the common mans inability to truly become the ubermench.
>>130215268

>>130222667
I minored in philosophy and we studied all the classical and enlightenment men but my professors had a certain disdain for Nietzsche and we never studied it. It was a while after graduating that I began to dig into his work. It has by far been the most useful in my life and personal development.
