Nothing matters, but not in some nihilistic way that you'll probably berate me for.
No the way in which things don't matter is in much more depth, much more archaic, much more primal, in nature.
The things we do, day in, day out, are what doesn't matter. Sure, we may enjoy these things, hell, I enjoy them! But that isn't the point. The point is, everything we do, from processed foods to video games, is artificial and un-natural. These things are masturbatory in nature, things meant to suppress your natural desires.
You play kawaii dutee for what? To fulfill your primal desire for violence and conflict.
You eat tendies, why? To fulfill your primal desire for meat and hunting.
Life as we know it has become vicarious and masturbatory and artificial. So it quite literally doesn't matter, nothing we do will have any effect on the outcome of anything.
I guess the point im trying to make is this, instead of living, we are simply BEING

I have heard it said before that "we're no better off than the Romans were."
I'm not sure I buy your point, though, because it kind of implies anything other than pure impulse is masturbatory when obviously sacrifice for the future is the complete opposite of that.
I think there is probably some place between "pure natural impulse" and "all things are artificial" that would be ideal. Is that fair?

well the pure impulse isn't really my point, what I mean is that in the past when a man wanted something, whether it be poon or food, he had to work for it.
nowadays we do it simply for sport, for "fun", its nothing more than an outlet for the male condition, a way to exercise your masculinity without going against the status quo.
we aren't living anymore, any realm of manliness that we encounter is vicarious and impersonal, we truly aren't living anymore
