Marijuana is illegal for two simple facts: profit and political interests. Loads of industries would be displaced if marijuana was freed from its current legal status. These industries and political special interests groups have even forced American marijuana laws on other countries, like Japan and Korea, in order to secure their economic interests.

Prohibition of marijuana is a failed tactic that has contributed to countless criminal organizations, just like the prohibition of alcohol created the mafia. There is no legal or logical basis for the illegality of marijuana. Free the bud.
