Seriously...

having to go to church 3 times a week and being bored as fuck
literally the worst experience of my childhood

I had to dress up for Easter service. The collar was so itchy.
HOW DARE RELIGON STILL BE INSTITUTED!
I will now retreat to the shadows to sharpen my katana so I can train my wife's son to be the very best that no one ever was.
When I was a teenager, I went through a sort of Christian Renaissance. While I'd been raised Lutheran, I wanted to explore the different denominations and see if I could find the "truth" for myself over which was right.
The worst Christian experience I had was with some Baptists. They sang Christian pop music in service, everyone attended sermon in jeans and t-shirts, and when the guest pastor - a Presbyterian asked the Baptist pastor to lead the congregation in the Lord's prayer, the Baptist froze for like a five count and started with "Ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death..."
There was more that was wrong with the Church, but having a pastor that doesn't even know the Lord's prayer? Just terrible.

If that was the worst experience of your childhood then surely you have lived a blessed life of luxury.

A lot of my friends were evangelicals in college, and I remember watching The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and them not understanding what the mexican guy was doing moving his hands around his body. He was doing the sign of the cross.

what the fuck, maybe I'm old but growing up I'd seen that countless times in movies and on tv, etc.
do they not show people doing the sign of the cross any more? Is it now one of those unspoken taboos like talking about female masturbation used to be?

the protestant and evangelical churches are all memes at this point. they also didn't know what the eucharist was or had ever been to a service where they had it. I'm Catholic so maybe I'm a little biased on that stuff but it always shocked me how stupid they were about basic stuff.
and unless its a war movie I don't think (((they))) show people doing the sign of the cross anymore

>go to church
>find God
>feel fulfilled
>enjoy sense of community
>realize Jesus is the truth, the life, and the way
>adopt real virtues in my life
>remove degeneracy in my life
>meet qt modest virgin and marry her
>have 3 perfect conservative God-fearing children
>die
>go to heaven to live eternally in paradise
Absolute torture, OP.
