So I'm skeptical
What does /pol/ have to say about this?
Long term effects...

Well that's almost a response. Citation the fuck out that, please?
The time between cause and effect.
Democrat does something, economy begins tanking.
Republican elected to clean up Democrat shit-show...however economy takes years to recover...at which point another Democrat is in office to take credit for the economic boon, as well as to tank the economy again.

I see that, and I understand that theory
But is there statistical proof out there to counter this?
>>130136879
The president has very little effect on the economy, Congress has a much greater influence. Which party controls Congress?
Take Obama for instance:
>first two years dem Congress
>rest of term republican Congress

>But is there statistical proof out there to counter this?
There can't be any, reasons are:
-incredibly small sample size
-metrics- can't compared value/price of goods at different times. That is, a loaf of bread may have a different value to people at different times. And the price relies on other changing variables.
and, "Government Statistics"
