So i call the cops and let em know. But since they didn't actually steal anything the cops aren't interested. Their faces are on our cameras.

What happened? Why did they get spooked out? I'm genuinely confused

Seems reasonable. I suppose the only bit I can say to that is if they're that afraid why bother trying to rob the place anyway? It's not like there isn't a panic button and a police station 5 minutes away.
