I don't know many over 65 who could survive without Medicare and Social Security. Cutting both would destroy a pretty big portion of the population and it fall upon the families to support them, who then couldn't support themselves, who would need help from their kids and so on.

The only way to kill Medicare/SS is to actually pay people properly and big business won't allow that.
