is National Socialism Marxism, just directed at the national level with patriotism, rather than internationally?

No, not at all. That's Strasserism. NatSoc is capitalist and economically similar to the modern west's Keynesian economics.
>>
>>130113841
Its just buzz terms turning true meaning into broader strokes.
>>
>>130114020
where does one read more on Strasserism?

>>130113981
those are pretty marginal differences tho.

National Socialism is New Dealism done by WW1 veterans trying to recreate the camaraderie of the trenches.

From Gregor Strasser's speeches and writings.

Also this speech about NK and their relation to ethnic purity and Fascist ideology also explains concepts similar to Strasserism.

No. They're completely different. The main point of contention is that Marxism is focused on an international movement of solidarity while national socialism or "fascism" is focused entirely on the nation defined through the historical perspective. And national "socialism" isn't that socialistic at all despite the name.

diverging on a couple points doesn't seem like complete difference to me. seems more like NS was a fork of Marxism. Holocaust historians also claim NS as being influenced by leftist anti-Semitism, including Marx's "On the Jewish Question"

Of course it's much more complicated. I should amend my previous post. Marxism is defined primarily by class struggle. That's wholly unacceptable to a fascist or "national socialist" due to the division that would occur within the nation. "National socialism" requires the unity of the nation which is why it opposes class struggle, feminism (the nation being potentially divided in half,) and extols the ethnic purity of that said nation, again as defined through the historical perspective.

Marxism potentially divides individual nations along all of those points while seeking to unite pieces of within each nation with similar elements of other nations. The socialism or left of center economics often extolled by "national socialists" or fascists is merely a means to an end. It's the only economic system that can serve their much wider ideology. Again, their focus is on the nation as a whole, not individuals or firms within that nation. Despite this there isn't a lot of socialism going on in "national socialism" despite the name. It's much more akin to social democracy.

Then why was the New Deal such shit at pulling us out of the depression while Hitler was such an unbridled success with effectively 100% employment? Does it just come down to currency?
>>
>>130117013
comes down partly to German stock. structurally fascism was a mess put in practice. it was successful because Germans wanted it to work, and were passionate about it.

the only thing Germans can't into is democracy.

National socialism = the best way strengthen the collective is to strengthen the individual (fascism). Believes in private property and enterprise. Believes in homogeneous states, everything for the people and your race, and everything to better the people and the nation. Believes in lots of social programs for the people and that the people should both help themselves and each other.
National socialism is a radical authoritarian centrist ideology.

Marxism/socialism/communism = collective is everything, does not believe in private property or private enterprise or even barely in the individual at all, socialism (the working class owning the means of the production) should be a stepping stone to communism (stateless, moneyless and classless society). Believes in absolute equality.
Marxism/socialism/communism are all far-left radical authoritarian ideologies.
