Guys, I've been threatened by a solicitor saying my IP was used to harass someone online (basically doxxing them) and that I'm liable for charges and have to remove the content posted.

I know what you're thinking but I've done no such thing. Asides from the regular shitposting on here, I've never doxxed someone online. What's more, a Facebook account was used that isn't mine along with a phone that isn't mine. Clearly my IP was used by someone else (possibly neighbour).

Do I simply ignore this? Can court action really happen over something being traced to an IP or is the solicitor just bullshitting?

I'm no lawyer but i would say it's extremely difficult to prove a crime with just an IP. They need some hard evidence to back it up.
