Masons have been behind most of the most important historical events since the 17th century. They have been behind the creation and or liberal revolutions in most Western countries.
The United States was created based on Masonic principles as outlined in Francis Bacon's book, the New Atlantis.
Most of the American Founding Fathers were Masons, and the layout of Washington DC was planned according to Masonic patterns.
Here in Argentina, most of our independence leaders were also Masons, belonging to a lodge organized in London called the Lodge of Rational Knights. They promoted the independence of southern South America according to the Maitland Plan, which was concocted by a British Mason, Thomas Maitland.
