My recent Ex (1 month) started taking anti-depressants (sertralin) about a year ago.
Without my rose colored glasses I've noticed that during the day she is dismissive and even slightly mean, which is completely unlike her.
During the evening (when the effects wear off) or on days she forgets to take her pills we get on like best friends. I noticed small changes over the year and 6 months we were together but ignored them because the pills were helping her.
I'm basically over her but next year she will be living with a friend of mine and I was talking to him about what to do and if there is anyway to help her, or if she even needs helping?

yeah, odd isn't it.
the only way to help with a depression is to deal with the problems that cause it (that also means therapy, without drugs), not to put your brain on drugs and watch it all collapse over the years. if she isn't strong enough to do that, then there is no way to help her, simple as that.
i have seen many of my friends that got depression pills and never managed to get over the depression itself and just go from day to day like vegetables, not a spark of anything left in them, thanks to the drugs. that stuff is simply there to make money, not to help.
