A paedophile father who filmed himself raping his two-year-old daughter has been imprisoned for 11 years in Germany in what the judge declared 'the most terrible crime ever seen.'

Video evidence played to the court showed the man raping his daughter with his fingers or other objects, while she screamed continuously.

The young girl was also tied up and gagged during the horrific crime, which the man committed with a 47-year-old accomplice.

He broadcast live video footage of the crimes onto the internet, as well as photos.

In the background, loud music could be heard that was meant to stifle the child's screaming.

The father, who has not been identified, told the court in Lubeck: 'I regret what I did but I do love my daughter.'

The 29-year-old was sentenced to a secure psychiatric hospital.

Both posted the sickening images and videos of the crimes online.

Police were alerted to the crimes by an online acquaintance of the man, to whom he sent photos of the rape accompanied by the text 'I like it when she suffers.'

He then alerted youth authorities who in turn contacted police.

The father and his 47-year-old friend were arrested in November last year.

The father was accused of nine rape and sexual abuse charges against his daughter, while his accomplice was accused of four.

When the girl was rescued she was found to have alcohol and the drug speed in her system.
