/pol/ is great for discussing politics on an international scale. However, it isn't really conducive to the discussion of local politics. There should be a board for that.

A whole board? Seems to me it might be valuable to use something more like a city politics general on /pol/, based on the notion of shared approaches to dealing with local politics made available to a wide audience.
I guess a board would be warranted for long-lasting city-specific organization or something, but based on state and area code threads, while there are more anons living near you than you might think, it's not really enough to organize useful political action on per-city level.

HA!

Like video game generals, just with threads for states or whatever

Makes sense. But I think you'd need to whip up interest in local politics in general first to get enough participation to contemplate an entire board of it.
It's rarely discussed on /pol/ as it is, and I imagine rather few people on /pol/ would actually go get involved. /pol/ seems better suited to mass information exchange rather than political organization.
