I don't think guns should be outright banned, even the scary ones the media outright sensationalized to be restricted to a smaller mag. But not everyone should have them and there needs to be checks in place so fringe crazies don't possess them.
Before anybody can purchase guns they need to have an employer's reference (or business tax records if they're self-employed) of being in work for 4 years with minimal employment gaps. Basically only people with steady lives, businesses, and families can keep guns. Autismos, libtards, 90% of teenagers, welfare leeches and mentally ill get gatekeeped from guns since most can't even hold a stable job. Is this a fair compromise for /pol/?

The answer to that question depends on the reason for wanting the control. Is it to get guns out of the hands of shitheads? Ex1: Some idiot who spends $800 on an iPhone, and $500 a month on a Mustang GT can't afford a gun safe but he bought the gun legally based on your above criteria.
