What do Germans now about WW2 from school?

I don't remember talking about the war itself so much in history class, really. We learned about the events leading up to the war with Germany as the aggressor and all other countries as naive appeasers. Then we learned about the Holocaust and German war crimes. But the military operations that took place were not really part of our education.

In addition, on May 13, 1946 the Allied Control council issued a directive for the confiscation on all media that could contribute to anything loosely defined as militaristic, nationalistic or any material which glorified German history.
