Depends. A rapid coup/purge wouldn't affect civilian livelihood that much, so women wouldn't learn anything from it. A protracted war, with utility disruptions and supply shortages and urban warfare and so forth, will uproot bitches and betas alike and force them to fall in line with whoever protects them.
