I know this isn't exact proof, but I have seen their driving first hand, about every week.
I worked on a go kart track at a major amusement park. Chinese tourists go on there about once a week over the summer.
Horry fook, these chins cannot drive to save their lives. You have 1 of 3 options:
1: slow as fuck, but not out of the way, causing them to get hit a fuck ton. Usually has a kid too. Also usually blames everyone else.
2: actually trying, but failing. They try and participate, but go for foot wide gaps in a 3 foot wide kart.
3: no idea. Usually seen going serpentine on the track because they think it doesn't turn them into a green shell from Mario kart. Also usually has a kid.
Everytime they came on near the end of the night, I hung back another ten minutes in hopes they would get out of the park and as far away as possible before I got on the road with them.

Can they do anything without running over small children on camera?

It's not just China, but the Chinese in general it seems.
I've been to Taiwan and while they're not China-level shit they're still pretty horrific.
There was one time I was taking a taxi to another city, and my driver seemed to be Michael Schumacher's less skilled and on-the-spectrum cousin, weaving through traffic at over 100km/h on a busy highway whilst trying to multitask. A few times he was on his ipad and one time he even had some paper he was trying to write on on the dash.
Also, it seems wearing a seatbelt is actually considered offensive to the driver. One time I was with my friend's family on a roadtrip and I went to put my seatbelt on but they stopped me and told me not to. And so I was on a 3 hour car trip through winding mountain roads, with a driver who would regularly take turns too fast and go into the other lane. Of course they all drive decades old shitboxes and don't know how to maintain their cars so I'm not sure a seatbelt would do much anyway.

I didn't notice much in the way of bad driving in Hong Kong or Singapore but I attribute that to the fact that no one can afford to own a car and those that do value their life too much.
