Comey's testimony was that he said Trump said "I hope you can let Flynn go." That senator made a point clarifying what Comey said in the hearing. Trump also has the recommendations in writing from AG and DAG recommending Comey's firing. No matter what Trump said about hsi reasoning in firing, he can always fall back on those documents too. It's a tough case to sell to a jury that he without a doubt attempted to obstruct justice.
When WaPo says he's being investigated, that basically means Mueller is reviewing the testimony already given by Comey, the AG's testimony, the DAG's recommendation to fire Comey, Trump's statements, and the Flynn case. Why wouldn't that all be assessed? It's a big nothing-burger again to distract you from the imminent collapse of the economy.

It doesn't matter, it's public perception. People like us will see that there's no evidence of obstruction but people who were on the fence/leaning towards Trump but not politically inclined will just hear the general sentiment in the media and associate Trump with obstruction of justice.

It's like with Bill Cosby. There's no evidence yet he's already been crucified in the court of public opinion and had his specials cancelled. It's because the average person doesn't care to look into the details, they just look at the headlines.

Mueller shouldn't be the concern,

it's Rosenstein, who has declared himself to be the sole overseer of the Mueller investigation. The question that should really be answered is who is Rosenstein and why did he pull the trigger on a special counsel wherein no crime has ever been alleged?

Mueller is basically neck deep in controversial associations, furthermore, it is absolute madness that a former FBI director has taken over an investigation that involves the FBI. Comey was playing games, they can't stop leaking partisan hit pieces to the media, no one has any real idea where the original investigation is actually at, the only thing we keep hearing is there is no evidence of anything. But yet it remains open, which creates speculation, this fuels leaks which in turn creates innuendo and whispers of alleged noncrimes.
