Ancestry.com uses bizarre terms, instead of old tribes they use the modern country names. For example anything Celtic is called "Irish" despite that encompassing Britanny, Scotland, Wales etc..., Saxon is called Great Britain (which is absurd since the Saxons stole that land from the Britons who were Celtic, hence Britanny France)

The word English and England DOES refer specifically to the unification of the Angles, Saxons, Jutes who invaded Britain. It started with King Alfred of Wessex whose children and grandkids went on to unit Wessex, Mercia, East Anglia, and Northumbria. Yes I know the ruling class was then the Norman French after William the Conqueror, the commoners still were heavily Saxon thus the creation of the language we call 'English'. This is another fallacy, most native Britain's are still about 1/3rd Celtic, ie. the original inhabitants. This figure is higher in Wales but it is in lots of parts of the UK.
