All their technical documents are written in English, so they need people who can read them and train Japanese people.

You can make big money at this, but it's not easy work. They basically own you, because they sponsor your Visa, and if they cancel it, you have to leave the country.

If you DO get a sponsorship, your first order of business is to save enough money to get home ASAP and arrange for shipping everything you can back home, or giving it to someone/selling it.

The company I worked for let me go because they didn't want to give me 5 years, because once you've been there for 5 years, you can apply for permanent status, and they no longer own you.

Be prepared for this, too.
Either have another sponsorship lined up for the last year, or be prepared to move back home.

Legit questions, so my volunteer work was obviously voluntary, but we're assigned an area to work in for two years, we don't choose it. But I've always been interested in the Japanese culture and history, apart from European history, for me it's one of the most interesting. Yes, being Anglo or white is pretty excellent, even more so if you can make a white family. That's easily one of the most important things to me.
The Japanese are just pure balls of potential. Their culture, when focused I feel can produce incredible results. In a lot of ways they're just in a spiritual slump, a huge one, but I feel it'll pass.
