Well Swedish and German aristocracy used to control Finland in imperial times. When the gommies killed the empire the Swede minority was of course worried about losing power so they either went with pan-Germanic ideology and wanted Finland puppeted by Germany or Sweden so that they could be in power or they learned Finnish, took Finn names and tried to become Finnish nationalist leaders with similar militant nationalist ideology as in Germanic nations at the time.

So for example one militant nationalist leader Elmo Kaila used to be called Johansson but changed his name in independent Finland. He used to run a militant Lutheran organization called Vihan Veljet (Brotherhood of Hatred) whose slogan was "Against the devil and the Russian". They were very worried that Finnish nationalism would not be russophobic enough cause new Finland didn't ban Orthodoxy, kick all Russians out (and old Tsarists like Mannerheim counted as Russians to them) etc

Basically Swede version of the Prussian Kulturkampf mentality against Slavs. It doesn't really fit ethnic Finnish mentality at all, we are kind of culturally passive and not interested in eternal race war of Germanic vs Slavic.

Russians living in Finland were loyal and fought in the wars in 1939-1944.

After Civil War in 1918 the Whites kicked out everyone that had sided with Reds and then some new Russians arrived fleeing the Reds in Petrograd. So the Russian minority is almost entirely from non-commies. Cossacks that were in Finland, bourgeoisie, Orthodox priests etc.

They are not at all a problem and they're almost gone anyway because with secularization Lutherans and Orthodox started intermarrying so today they are a bunch of Finns with Russian last names really.

Even learning Russian as foreign language would mark you as a "Russian" to them in imperial or interwar Finland and they wanted you purged. They tried to assassinate Mannerheim many times because they considered him tainted with Russia.

You have to understand that Swedes are an imperialist people who view themselves as the arch-enemy of Russia and they view Finland as their achievement of taking some Finno-Ugrians out of Russian influence.
