Was thinking the same thing.

He fumbled a bit trying to pull a Comey and going the "I'm not at liberty to say" route. The partisan bias was on full display from the usual suspects. Wyden blew a gasket, the VP chairman was a complete dick to Sessions but was an angel to Comey.

More typical heresay bullshit. One dude actually tried to get Sessions to elaborate on something he allegedly said to Comey, which Comey himself didn't say what it was.

The highlight:

DOESN'T PASS THE THMELL TEST!

So now we cry about /pol/ flags even though they are cool because they delete the shit they "cover". Such be the 'Republigoyim Times'. The grand old party? Democrats are older and where is the grand here? He stumbled when he wanted to sound like a diplomat. Didn't refer to his privilege as constitutional but took bait of committee with an executive privilege. And everybody knows trump tweeted about tapes and then whines of leakers. Big deal. Sessions practically pled as to his loyalty. Sounded like the gang of four. He is AG and sounded wholly nonsensical. I go to parties and try to find a bunch of Waldo's. Jeff Session was. A stapler. Nobody believes that. The dems are lefties, we only claim they worked for the KGB as a smer, not because it's true.

every rightie swears that everything coming out of Bezmenov's mouth is the God's honest truth, that Putin's KGB was actively involved in destroying the West.

Today, we have been tricked into believing there no way Putin's FSB would ever continue those "active measures" against America by the same Kremlin that committed them the first time.

The long and short of it is: If all conversations in the presidents cabinet and advisors are subject to public information requests and subpoenas, this will lead to self censoring of discussions had in the government, and will lead to decisions not based on candid advice, but rather, calculated statements which may conceal the truth and not reveal all items that need to be considered.

From that, it seems pretty clear sessions didn't want to step on his dick and set a legal precedent of blabbing about what conversations were had at the whitehouse.

Not to mention, as per the questions he was asked: it is hard to imagine that the topic of the Russia Investigation wouldn't come up in relation to Comey's firing. If nothing other than "So, if you fire him, then what? What will the media say about the Russian investigation? Will that hurt our policy goals?"
>>
>>129803552
I think he was also hitting that point home due to comey leaking all his discussions he had with trump. It was kind of dumb for them to harp on this point.
>>
>>129803054
The Russia shit fell apart when Comey finally admitted Trump wasn't under investigation. So now the Democrats and never Trump idiots want to investigate the investigation (not kidding). He covered his own ass and corroborated James Comey. President should fire him. He supports Rrobert Mueller's investigation into Trump. Robert Mueller is investigating Comey testimony, and now President Ttump himself. Trump had better do what he does best and bust heads.
>>
>>129806736

Actually, that never happened.

Comey said at the time of speaking with Trump in January, he was not under direct personal investigation. He then went on to clarify that they didn't want to say anything about that openly in case it were to change. This does not mean that Trump's entire campaign isn't under investigation, or that Trump isn't as of right now, it is unknown.

Full quotes and context are important.

Rosenstein literally said the opposite

>Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein on Tuesday endorsed the intelligence agencies’ January assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, a subject on which he did not take a position during his confirmation hearing in March.

>Rosenstein had promised Judiciary Committee senators that he would review the classified information that led 17 intelligence agencies to reach their conclusions about Russia’s involvement, if he was confirmed as deputy attorney general. He did, and has decided he agreed with it.

Sessions appears to have a rather convenient memory in that whenever there is something potentially incriminating he doesn't remember it even when there is written and photographic evidence backing the event occurred, but when its something which incriminates Trump he remembers anything and tries to spin it in Trumps favor.

Once a Lawyer always a lawyer, only problem is when you are the accused and under oath you can't lie or refuse to answer yet he did both.

The REAL story here is that Mueller is CLEARLY conflicted out and should recuse himself:

>It's somewhat ironic, no? I mean, the whole purpose of the special counsel is to have a prosecutor from outside the government and outside of the normal chain of command because inherent conflicts render the Justice Department incapable of handling it. So, now the special counsel is a close friend (mentor/mentee relationship) with the star witness, who by his own admission leaked the memos at least in part to engineer the appointment of a special counsel. Only in Washington. You can't make this stuff up.

So anyone else beginning to think that Trump and his team are letting the 'Russia" narrative continue?
Look hear me out, Trump and elements of his team want to drain the swamp and go after the pedos, but as soon as you shine a light the cockroaches start crawling away into every nook and cranny, you won't ever find them. What if you set some bait? What if you create some confusion? It seems like everyone in Trumps team involved in the Russia investigation gives concrete "No" answers when directly asked about collusion, etc, effectively protecting them all from any sort of actual wrong doing that would get them into legal trouble. BUT, they all seem to have left a trail of bread crumbs, a bit of catnip for the sleuths in Congress. For what purpose?
The Democrats as evidenced by today are absolutely hysterical and would bring in a literal pile of shit to answer questions about Russia if someone so much as implied it would know something, while the Deep State Republicans aren't really sure what the fuck is going on. Some are on the Trump train, but other like McCain are the Swamp, but many don't know which side of the fence to be. It seems to me the Democrat machine is full steam ahead at Trump, throwing everything they got, so blinded by their hysteria that they can't see the tracks end off a cliff into irrelevancy, and all Trump has to do is take a step to the side.
The Republican machine has ground to a halt while the front conductor argues with the engineers in the back, the attendants with the cooks, and all through this the passengers are getting pissed.
Yet though all of the media shilling, SJW hysterics, and backroom intrigues, Trump keeps on winning.

He. Keeps. WINNING.

Look, if any of what I wrote has any basis in reality, then right now Trump is sitting in the White House, watching the late night news, and thinking "These guys have no idea what's coming". I don't know what he plans to do, but these are some exciting times.

Only if the president didn't keep doing things which demonstrate that innuendo to be more and more plausible.

Refusing to acknowledge Russia had in a major way tried to influence the elections

Undermining the checks and balances placed between the executive branch of government and the judicial branch.

Firing the FBI director during a probe into that Russian interference and then admitting that was the reason he was fired a few days later

Undermining US interests by divulging classified intelligence given by an ally who explicitly didn't want that intelligence leaked to the Russians who could then pass that information to Iran

Accepting foreign emoluments through his various business ties across dozens of countires which most definitely could influence him on policy especially when he profits directly from supporting policies which benefit said nations even if not in US interest

Actively contradicting his own staff on a regular basis sometimes in ways which damage diplomatic ties with other countries

Making enemies of long standing allies

And attacking the nation key to all middle eastern operations during a period where diplomatic tensions are already high

In short, its not innuendo. Trump is a danger to western democracy. The question is at what point are you going to wake up and realize it?

>Refusing to acknowledge Russia had in a major way tried to influence the elections
It didn't. The entire basis of this claim is the unsubstantiated assertion by the DNC's PRIVATE CONTRACTOR that the code used in the "hack" on the DNC server used Cyrillic characters, and therefore it must have been Putin. Except, we basically know for certain at this point that there was no hack, and the 44,000 emails were leaked by Seth Rich.

>Undermining the checks and balances placed between the executive branch of government and the judicial branch.
Either describe specifically how or shut the fuck up.

>Firing the FBI director during a probe into that Russian interference and then admitting that was the reason he was fired a few days later
He fired Comey because he maliciously refused to tell the public the key fact that Trump was not personally under investigation, while every single other detail had been leaked.

Wrong.
Three of our 17 intelligence agencies report uncovering evidence of Russian meddling.
The other 14 singed off saying they didn't find it improbable.
Besides, just look at the Ukraine in 2014.
Russia "manufactured" local opinion in an effort to help their own cause there.
