This isn't true unless you also go to a top tier school like Harvard. Otherwise, you need to have a very impressive track record for a number of years which is quite difficult to have done if you spent most of your prime studying for a PhD in finance. It's generally suggested that it's worth it to pursue finance until a Master's but after that, unless you're looking to be a professor, forget about the PhD.

A BS in Finance is becoming a worthless degree given how many people are studying it now.

Kek I did a 1 year long study in IT and I am starting as a field service technician in a month. They offer free industry certs and after a year or 2 I can go back to uni and do computer science with a bunch of RPLs so I can cut a 4 year degree hopefully in half.

I am intending to complete my CCNA and CCNP over the next 2 years and hopefully I can do uni part time whilst I am working a comfy 70k a year job.

My mate who is 24 years old is doing archaeology and is now still just a supervisor at Target. I know this girl whom I nearly got to fuck who studied for 5 years to only land a grad role that pays 60k a year.

I want to become a system admin for a large business before I am 30. This gives me a 10 year timeframe to work with.
