He gathered some friends, and we grabbed the kid when he was alone with a burlap sack to his head and beat the shit out of him, dragged him on a bike to finally take a piss on him.

I don't think he saw didn't any of our faces, but next time I saw him I asked him how he liked his bicycle ride and if he would like another one. He left me alone aside from one little incident afterwards that wasn't really a big deal. At my high school, bullies were mostly sports players. Especially the football team. Some of them were popular, some of them weren't but just happened to be 6'6" and 275 pounds so they could push around whoever they wanted. Bullying isn't so much about the bullies but about the adults that let it happen. The environment at Columbine High School before Dylan and Eric shot it up is a perfect example - bullying by athletes was well known and was tolerated by the school officials and the community due to athlete worship. I used to be bullied most of my school because I had used to have bad social anxiety and bad at sports due to being skinnyfat. Was bullied both physically and verbally.

When I got high school, I was bullied a bit less. Then in 12th grade, I got a girlfriend from 2 years below. She was actually quite pretty, and we were cuddling together in school hall and all of my class saw this. Then I lost virginity and the word got around, and suddenly, some former bullies said I am "quite an OK dude" and absolutely all bullying ceased.

The biggest problem with bullying is that the people getting bullied aren't allowed to fight back.
