Jews wanted their state Israel by any means and during this cataclysmic event they saw their best chance. Either Germany and the Ottomans pledge to them to found the state in the post war era (which they didn't), or the jews try to make a deal with the biggest colonial empire UK to somehow get control of the holy land in their post war era (which they did).

That's what amazes me. How can they betray their ancient ally? Germany was very generous and kind to jewish community before WWI. They accepted jews with same rights as a german native. They were friends. Allies. Why they betrayed their kind ang generous ally, and changed sides to support England and France? Changed their friend for people that historicaly didn't appreciate them.
