It's the only mgs game (maybe the only stealth game aside from the thief series) where getting caught is legitimately nerve racking because the guards are ruthlesslessly efficient at finding and killing you, especially on extreme/EE. The more open mgs games have good guard ai when there's no alert, but they can't find you to save their life when you get spotted and hide

I just lost my last dwarf.... Bunch of kobolds got into my plum helmet seeds and stole most of them and I couldn't fish enough to feed my population. Then a cyclops or something came and rampaged through my starving dwarves.

the thing i look for is that sweet spot where it's hard but doesn't feel cheap, i hated this on Outlast 2
I hate feeling like the enemy obviously where I am and are going through move to look like they don't, like when they enter a room they just saw you enter and check every hiding place except yours

Half-Life 2 had some pretty good AI. I was also pretty surprised with STALKER's AI. Hell, even L4D2 had the best zombie AI I've ever seen.

Halo 1 was pretty predictable, but 2 and 3 weren't bad.
