This is mostly about the way parents raise their children. If they let them think for themselves without setting any values they will naturally drift towards communism which in theory is utopia - everybody is doing equally good unlike reality where it ends up making everyone do equally bad. Especially in countries where people didn't really live through communism. For example in Czechia (well generally any Soviet block country) there is still great anti-communism sentiment but you can see how it is disappearing.
For younger generations it is just something they heard about and if we do it differently this time it will surely work

This is mostly due to predictability of muslims. Yes they are more violent and religious but so are almost all of them. Native Europeans are socialist, centrists, nationalists, etc. We are all over the political spectrum. While even the most moderate muslims will still lean toward sharia law. There is nothing wrong with further integration of europes armies, part of the dutch infantry is under german command, part of the german navy is under dutch command, czech and romanian brigades are under german command and we have had euro battlegroups for a long time.
