If you are serious about it move to Japan. As someone from the UK you should be able to get the working holiday visa. Learn basic Japanese, move there, get a job a job at the Konbini or similar to survive while you get fluent in Japanese by going to a language school. Before your visa expires make sure to find a full time position so you get the work visa. It's not too difficult if you are working on it.

I went to Japan because my company sent me there and met several people who did what I just described. And it's a great nation but it has its disadvantages: Earthquakes, shit work culture (be prepared to work more than 50h to 60h per week in average), etc.

I found a non for profit that I decided to go work at for a year cause I was sick of what was happening at home.
