Must suck having to bow down to your royal overlords. If your ancestors had any balls they would have rid the earth of them after 1791.

The Queen and Prince Philip handed out dozens of framed photographs of themselves and other mementos as thanks to their hosts during their tour last October,

Objectively incorrect. In the last election in the UK the DUP got 10 seats from 292,000 votes. Meanwhile UKIP got 0 seats from 500,000 votes, and the Lib Dems only got 12 seats from 2,300,000 votes. Parliamentary democracies simply don't represent the people, it is a shitty form of government designed to cater to powerful political blocs and mitigate popular voting.

Also the monarchy is retarded, why should we pay taxes and celebrate someone just for being born into the right family? It's outdated and doesn't fit our Western values of freedom and equality.

More so than voting, the worst part about parliamentary democracies is the amount of party infighting it creates. Since the leader of the nation can be replaced at any time by the leading party, there's constant backstabbing and power-plays. In Australia we've had 5 PM changes in the last 7 years from all the squabbling.

At least in the Presidential system you have to work with the executive, and not constantly undermine him

because that is how a monarchy works. in an early tribal society the guy that makes the most food becomes the king over that land. people invading? hire others and give them swords and say you will take care of them with your plentiful lands as long as they protect you. eventually this process solidifies into tradition.

even libertarian societies would eventually be sudo monarchies or aristocracies based on if the companies are CEO only or have a board of directors respectfully. people want power as it is human nature and if you can persuade people to fight for you and make that tradition it is best for you and your family's survival. that is the reason monarchies exist; baring from extensive details and the fact i just glossed over subdivisions and eras of time.

personally i enjoy the ideas of monarchies and aristocracies. they, usually, are breed to be the best for their nation in the advantages they receive in education. now coming from a democratic society i understand that is a hard pill to swallow but take this into consideration: roughly 55% of all americans voted in the 2016 elections. how many of those people do you think are aptly educated on all issues and policies to the point they can argue both sides fluently? i would wager less than 1% of that voting block could do it. this backed up with private schools time and time again scoring higher than public schools on average show that if you have the means you will, on average, be smarter than your peers.

because a republic is simply a buffer for true democracy. true democracy being mob rule. all republics will fall eventually but they give us time to think up of a way to bypass the mob rule, which is a reason why you see so many politicians keeping their seat. politicians are not idiots when it comes to being an incumbent but to do so requires some degree of pandering to their constituents and that is where the mob can start to creep in. how do you think the Clintons, Bushes, and Kennedys have been able to hold onto their power for so long? they are effectively the aristocratic class of the republic. the worse part is it doesn't matter if you disagree with those aristocrats on issues or not because they are keeping back the droves of idiots from ruining a country. we may sit back and say "the democrats are destroying america" but it would be far worse if the democratic constituents were in power instead.

in the end the republic will eventually fall. it is inherent in every democratic based nation.

>they aren't so rich and powerful once they're dead
agreed but they will have passed on ownership of estate to their heirs. as long as the heirs have promised loyalty to the people who protect the "family money" as well the cycle will continue. people kiss ass and suck dick all the time to get ahead in life. the only ones that don't are the ones at the very top or the ones at the very bottom that move away from it all.

for some it is not about kissing ass at all but for a general self purpose that you are improving your own society and people around you. an ideal that has been almost lost on our modern world. maybe a good monarchy or two would bring it back :^)

That's not a real monarchy; however, it's because monarchies are better than democracy or representative government.

A monarch sees a country as his/her own property, which means that improvement of the country means personal gain. A politician sees the country as a thing to exploit and profit from, so they profit as much as possible, regardless of whether it improves the country or not.

In short, a monarch has a direct and personal interest in being a good ruler, while a politician has an interest only in exploiting the country for profit.
