I'm saying early 2000s because while we didn't have as advanced technology, everything was still NEW. The internet. Medias. Games. Cell phones.
It was all an exploration that we all did together. Now everything is so meta in that everyone is just trying to make a quick buck off of everything by reusing "formulas" that work.

Early 2000s, since there were more white people. After 1965, the earlier of any two years was the better one.

Late 2001 to mid 2006 essentially defined the period of the housing bubble mania where everyone was convinced that they'd become uber-rich by using their home as an ATM. Late 2006-2009 was the bursting of this bubble. Guess which period people enjoyed more?

Of course, 2009-2017 has been far worse in terms of living standards than both these periods. It's just been masked over with cheap money, massive deficit spending and huge asset bubbles.

early was better is basically every way, the economy started sucking in 07 and it still sucks where I live...... white people seemed less into drugs.....gays were not celebrated, even some mainstream entertainers were anti gay (listen to the marshal mathers LP for evidence on that one).......no serious rioting......kids didn't get triggered by shit......less muslims.....there were still chaste virgin women outside of rural utah......more Jesus.....less porn and the porn was a lot less weird...... better portion sizes at restaurants....lower ammo prices.
