I think he.was good, he fought and won multible times against the old empires of europe, saved france from being a shithole multible times before he became emperor, empowered france, Did what many thought was unachivable of a man that was not of high noble birth, therefore history should remember him as a self made man who challenged not one, but over 6 incredibly powerful empires (Uk, Rus, Ottos, Aus, Pruss, Spain, etc).
