I stopped being an atheist at around the end of my high school years, and became more religious during college whilst talking to a lot of non-religious people.

I won't go into the specifics of what made me convert, as it took me 5 comments on /pol/ last time. To put it in time the most basic way possible, I believe there is some sort of hierachal structure in which entities can manipulate given environments and create new life. My analogy would be to humans creating artificial intelligence, the day we can develop artifical intelligence that is able to learn on its own, will be the day that my faith grows stronger.

I like to compare it to the way I believe that extraterrestrial life forms exist, although there isn't any conclusive evidence other than our own existence, I still believe our own existence (humans) is enough to for me to believe other intelligent species exist.
