4chan, redpill me on this guy?

Is he on of us or (((them)))?

I am finishing my half-year exchange in Russia. Wonder, what's gonna happen if I go to his rally on June 12 (can I be imprisoned if I am a foreign citizen?). And should I?
He seems like a better version of Putin: he opposes his corruption, but he is also against the (((West))) and he seems to be ready to continue his foreign policy.

Thoughts?

I am literally telling you that the history of Russia is never made in the street. Study history of Russia. No matter what will happen tomorrow (most likely nothing), this will in no way affect neither Putin nor (((Haвaльный))).

You just sit and wait as, when the time is right, Putin is sent off to Dacha by his own circle and this guy installed into power.

Literally, in the last 100 years, only Yeltzin voluntarily left the power. And only Nikolai II was somewhat dislodged by mass (armed) protests.

Everyone else was betrayed by their own. You sit and wait.

On a side note, you are in the wrong, if you assume that they will not jail a foreigner. They did and they will do if you are in the way.

Not so much so. The street movement was armed, and the factories strike movement was very powerful. He didn't have a choice really.

Yes, but the street was armed to the teeth. This is very different from the current situation, where people have no influence on those on power whatsoever. Nothing will happen tomorrow except a couple of hundred of arrests.

I don't say the history will be made on the streets of Moscow.

What I do say, is that tommorow's rally might be the one that will get him into the international spotligh, which, in turn, will be the one that just might get into the history books.
And I do want to be able to tell my children how I participated in that rally back in 2017

On a side note, I just got a tip from one of my classmates to switch youtube's region to Russia and visit Youtube's trending page. It's literally full of stuff that is about tomorrow's rally

Just look at this shit, trending at the second place on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpf9SALw17o

I literally had no idea whether it will b a pro-putin or pro-navalny vid, untill the last seconds of this vid when they showed that phrase about being able to change something.

Isn't that something?
>>
>>129467055
> This is very different from the current situation, where people have no influence on those on power whatsoever.
Well, Euromaidan wasn't armed to the teeth either. However, it succeeded because the """legitimate president""" did not stomp them while it was just a small protest. It's kind of hard to suppress a whole square of angry people. Putin, on the other hand, would not wait until an angry mob would start ramming Kremlin gates.
>>
>>129466745
Navalny also has some nasty welfare policies in plan like raising minimal wage up to 25k roubles or subsidizing mortgages. But yeah, he's still better.

He is already in the international spotlight. His every move is covered by (at least) European media to the detail not even remotely close to how he is covered in Russia.
>And I do want to be able to tell my children how I participated in that rally back in 2017
All the important stuff already happened in 2011, which started the process of Putin slowly turning against the rest of the world, becoming more paranoid and scrupulous. Which, in turn, alienated most of the oligarchs against him. Which, in turn, when push comes to shove, will remove him from the position of power.

Also, you don't take Russian character into account. It is summer. Most of the people that won't be working, will be on their dachas out of the cities. Hence, my prognosis about nothing happening.
>>
>>129467429
>However, it succeeded because the """legitimate president""" did not stomp them while it was just a small protest.

Yes, and that is the only reason why it succeeded. Had Yanukovich have the balls to crush the protest, he very easily could have. May I assure you that Putin does have the balls to do that.

I heard about it.

The only problem is that, as far as I understand, his previous rally in the late march (the famous one) wasn't exactly full of dacha-visiting people in their 50-s.
It was mainly populated by youngsters (schoolkids, students and the like). And I don't think these people go to dachas.

Besides, unlike 1991, now we have the internet. And judging ONLY by youtube's trending channel (there are actual Russian rappers rapping about changing Russia's politics, and they are on youtube's trending page) and by russian imageboard 2ch's /pol/'s first page I do seem to think that this rally is quote trending among the crowd

Russian median income is about 30k roubles/month. Even lesser outside Moscow, SPb and other large cities. Raising the bar to almost this sum would devastate both small businesses and low income people. Former would bankrupt and later would be fired. Yay, sensible socially democratic policy. The said comfy countries you are speaking about(Nordic countries, I suppose) were rather successful PRIOR to installing social democracy as their main political force. And they are in economic decline nowadays.

Means nothing unless the crowd has guns and balls to make a coup. Schoolkids, as you have correctly identified the target group of these protests, has neither.

The only possible positive reason to go to these, which I can think of, is that if the oligarchs, the secret service, the army, the Pocгвapдия decide to overthrow Putin, they can use the violent attacks against the protesting youngsters as an excuse.

But do you really want to put your body on the altar of Russian power games?

Making the largest crowd since 1991? Sure, I can imagine that. But actually proceeding with a revolution? Not going to happen.

Putin wasn't actually an idiot when he started his whole Crimean/ukrainian affair. One thing he got out of it is making his population literally immune to any revolutionary bullshit.

a usefull idiot.

Also, a democratic politician
>>
Nvalny seems pretty based, if you dig into his past he was(or still is) even more nationalistic than putin, he is algo in favor of firearms in citizens hands. He is agains all that corruption and nepotism inherited from the communists, in some regions there are people still in power after 40 years!
Too bad Putin will never let him run for president, he will come up with some bullshit to ban him.

>What's the difference between "usefull idiot" and regular democratic politic?
A useful idiot would lead to collapse of Russia because he has never had experience governing or managing anything, let alone in politics. If you think a man like him could keep a country like Russia together you're either 12 or shitposting.
>>129474206
My point still stands desu
>>129474352
Except he's nothing like Trump. Trump is a billionaire that built a business. What has Navalny ever done?
Also you cant compare the US political system that has checks and balances (and relative autonomy and stability) to the Russian counterpart.
>>
>>129475017
> that built a business
Inherited, you wanted to say. Large businesses are much more stable than small ones, and a buttload of his own businesses started failed miserably. Trump's more like a media person than a businessman.

> What has Navalny ever done?
He's got a rather long history of finding out ties between different corrupted politicians and oligarchs.

When Navalny critizied capitalism you dumb shit vatnik? If even, he is in favor of free market and agains Putin's commie tier protectionism.
>>
>>129474352
But coprorate media loves Analny. He's on the front page of CNN right now. No doubt the whole purpose of tomorrow rally is to assure America can give as good as it gets by stirring public unrest in Russia.
>>
>>129475718
>But coprorate media loves Analny. He's on the front page of CNN right now.
Because he is the only serious oponent to Putin.
They don't care about who is or if he is pro or against the west, as long as he is against Putin they will broadcast him.
>>
>>129475017
Putin can't cope with Navalnyi even though he has 17 years of experience and whole government on his side. That's strange to say that Putin has better ability to manage things.

>can I be imprisoned if I am a foreign citizen?
Yes.
> he opposes his corruption
Navalny fould be guilty in two separate cases of corruption already, abusing the very little power he had as chief advisor of Kirovsk Oblast.
He's not "opposing corruption", he's just useful tool in faction wars between different corruptioneers.
>he is also against the West
Bullshit. When his email was hacked and dumped, it exposed that Navalny had some very close contacts in US embassy.
Before that, he received funding from some US ((democracy funds)).
>he seems to be ready to continue his foreign policy
Navalny's foreign policy is "unconditional surrender to the west".
>>
>>129475492
Trump took it from a million dollar business and made it into a billion dollar one. He's infinitely more sucessfuk and actually has experience governing something at least. Navalny doesnt.
>>129476164
>cant cope
Last tine I checked he's coping just fine.
Also you're comparing apples and oranges. It's one thing to get to power, it's another to stay there. Nobody will support Navalny. Noone in parliament, noone in the military and noone in the FSB. He will have no control over the country whatsoever.

>Last tine I checked he's coping just fine.
Oh, ok.

Hahah. The retard does not regard Crimea a part of Russia. He has no political future in this country, not even after Putin is no longer in power. The limit of his influence is throwing Moscow numale hipsters on police batoons to showcase foreign sponsors the semblance of political discontent in Russia.
>>
>>129477117
I read that he don't want to return Crimea, he just want to hold another referendum.
>The limit of his influence is throwing Moscow numale hipsters
Uhm the last protests were in many cities across Russia, not only in Moscow. If there is a more important Putin oposition than Navalny please tell me who is?
>>
>>129477579
> protests were in many cities across Russia
100 local hipsters coming to city square to shout some shit for a hour. Very scary, huh.

> If there is a more important Putin oposition than Navalny please tell me who is?
Right now Putin doesn't have any real opposition. But if we would speak about threats, biggest one is "Family", oligarchs who put Putin in power and who still control most of Russia's assets. If they decide that Putin became liability, he will be out of power fast.

>he just want to hold another referendum.
Sure, the one that would be approved by the West. Because consensus of unelected Brussels bureaucracy is clearly more important to Analny than legal plebiscite of Russian people. I find it rather hard to explain the value of Crimea to a cuckold with Gibraltar sized cock up his moorish arse.
>Uhm the last protests were in many cities across Russia, not only in Moscow
Talk to me again when his national support outside of Moscow exceeds the margin of statistical error.

Soros/USA-paid traitor cucklord who wants to surrender Syria to USrael.
>>
>>129460186
I'm not sure about him. In one hand he's against the corruption that is the actual problem in russia and he also hates shitskins ( as far as i know ) and it's great for a local policy but I don't know what he's thoughts on foreign policy.
I like foreign Putin policy because he still doesn't sell us to the US and EU like Ukraine did to its country and he keep growing russia power and influence on the world and trying to make other people respect us unlike others Presidents who sold half of the country to US and make the take over us. We need a leader who can resist the pressure from the west because US politics always been against Russia.
>>
>>129477579
>he just want to hold another referendum.
He's been super evasive on that issue, just like on most others concerning foreign politics. He's been asked repeatedly that it's clear Ukraine and the West would never agree to recognize the results of such a referendum, so what then? Do we keep Crimea or do we return it back, pay reparations, and repent for innumerable crimes of the Putinist regime? And every time he evades the answer and instead of saying directly: yes, in that case we're keeping Crimea and fuck them all or alright, in that case we should give it back, he keeps talking about this new referendum and how he will make it happen and recognized by everyone.

Btw, some ten years ago when he was a mere political activist, he expressed his views much more openly and radically in his blog. For example, he openly supported Putin in the 2008 conflict with Georgia, even though it's considered very bad manners in the Russian opposition circle to support Putin on any issue, no matter how correct it may be. And now he's turned into a huge populist, giving answers as vague as possible trying to appeal both his core liberal electorate who, if Putin accidentally says that 2×2 = 4, start saying 2×2 = 17 and saying that 2×2 = 4 is actually a violation of human rights and, well as normies dissatisfied with rampant corruption but generally agreeing with the foreign politics of Putin.

> the value of Crimea
And what is it? It's beaches are almost empty now, no tourism income. It requires a whole lot of money to get water and electricity there. Military bases were there even before the "referendum" with 97% pro votes, sudden appearance of armed people in fresh new military uniform and becoming a part of Russia in 2 days after it happened. A valueable lawfully aquired asset indeed.
