In the last 20 years, the Tories have had a majority for 2 years and 1 month only.

The last elected prime minister was Tony Blair and briefly David Cameron in 2015 for 10 days only.

All other times in last 25 years we have not had a prime minster elected with a majority or they have been given power with election e.g. Brown and May

>>
>>129438894
Do you really need a strawpoll for this?

The government is extremely weak, literally any combination of backbenchers can hold them to ransom, so nothing meaningful can be done.

May stays as long as she is deemed useful by the cabinet, at which point she will be replaced, unless she gets bored of being a puppet leader and just resigns.

At the very least they need to get the Queens speech through. During the summer recess I suspect she will be replaced, she is too unpopular now and will drag the Tories down to inevitable defeat at the next election.

I think another election is coming, the government is just too unstable in its formulation.

The cosy semi-rural world of the Tudoresque villa was rudely shattered by a challenge from the aggressive, uncompromising Modern Movement. This was a European reaction to traditional styles which emerged in the 1920s, led by architects such as Le Corbusier (1887-1965), Walter Gropius (1883-1969) and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, (1886-1969). They rejected historical styles and any architectural decoration or whimsy. Ornament of any kind was to be banished as architecture searched for a purity and simplicity of design based on sheer functionalism. In achieving this traditional building techniques were abandoned in favour of reinforced concrete which enabled the architect to break all conventions of design. Cantilevered upper floors, large picture windows and flat roofs and the whole finished in stark white were the hall marks of the movement.

The Modern Movement never suited the British psyche – or the weather: it was seen as too impersonal and large areas of glass were either to hot or too cold for the English climate. Nevertheless, a few middle class apartment blocks around greater London were built in the Modern Style and some elements were applied to houses of conventional construction. To John Betjeman these were not ‘modern’, only ‘jazz’, with their flat, green tiled roofs, white rendered walls and wide metal windows which curved around corners (right). These, the so called ‘suntrap’ windows have given their name to this distinctive house type. The Suntrap house, however, never represented more than a minor footnote in the history of thirties suburbia, always something of a curiosity and ultimately, signifying the failure of the Modern Movement to win widespread acceptance before 1939.

Ever since he started he has been crucified by media and made fun off

Even /pol was against him even though he was or guy and anti establishment Jew hater. While May was Hilary 2.0 with internet control

Like it's a micicle he even got this far.

Over 40% of the vote. Highest swing since 1945. With that vote share he would have been prime minister any other election apart from 1997

He still might have been pm if t wasn't for Scotland 13 seats to Torys. Which by the way was because snp and labour split left vote. Like only 50 seas between most of them

Plus the international liberal media. NYT, Washpo, Huffpo etc. The BBC has always be biased towards whatever party is in at the time, I'm surprised they hadn't noticed that.

The media was far, far more against UKIP.

Corbyn just promised free shit and to punish the rich because young people are coddled and want everything handed to them and are bitter and resentful against those who are more successful. There is rising inequality but socialism predicated on vindictiveness has never been the answer to that.

http://hitchensblog.mailonsunday.co.uk/2017/06/peter-hitchens-theresas-tories-as-useful-as-a-zombie-on-a-broken-bike.html

Very good article. He's right on the money when he says that Labour's success is largely down to the party deferring to the membership. Only when you start listening to real people can you even begin to understand what the real issues are, let alone start trying to solve them.
In other words, Labour offered the wrong answers to the right questions, but the Tories didn't even know what questions they were trying to answer.

The good news is that the Tory party is apparently on course to radically reform its membership structure to basically copy that of the Labour party. I can't find the article (it was published yesterday and it got lost in the sea of news) unfortunately, but it's out there somewhere.

This is true and the policing issue isn't even funding, it's that it was changed from prevention to response some 20 years ago and ever since police just sit around waiting for calls only able to show up after the crimes happened, chuck as much money at that as you like it's retardation.

Paki immigration has drastically fallen under the Tories though. Looking at total immigration doesn't paint a proper picture because you can't stop EU immigrants entering the UK and EU immigration has been increasing.

Also non EU immigration includes students who aren't even immigrants. The vast majority of these people Chinese people.

If you actually look at numbers of immigrants that break it down by country you can see that a lot less pakis are coming in under Tories than Labour.

Well to be fair, it was mostly people on here explicitly saying that they would, and those people were likely just shills. Labour initiated the second phase of mass increase in mass migration, but Thatcher initiated the first phase much earlier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdZp5iw-UEo .

Another civil servant remarked of Ms. Roche’s personal mission at the ministry: “It was clear that Roche wanted more immigrants to come to Britain. She didn’t see her job as controlling entry into Britain, but by looking at the wider picture in a "holistic way" she wanted us to see the benefit of a multicultural society”.

The Blairites/globalists amongst the Tories won't like that though. They will have learnt from Labour's experience, seeing the Blairites lose power to Corbyn

That's because the revival of the Conservative vote is even more significant. I think the vote in 2015 was more of a "fuck you" to Westminster than anything else, but the Scottish Tories ran a far better campaign than the English ones, or at least the SNP blundered this one badly. Nicola Sturgeon has managed to alienate both the Unionists and the anti-EU Scots by insisting that another independence referendum take place only a few years after the "once in a generation vote", all because of leaving the EU. Sturgeon then threw Labour under the bus by revealing that the Labour leader had secretly told her that she supported a second independence referendum, which meant that both of the two previously mentioned demographics focused their vote onto the Conservatvies. Ruth Davidson really took advantage of this and managed to frame it so that if you voted for either of those parties, you'd get a pro-EU, anti-UK government.

Still find it hilarious that students actually think this counts as a 'victory'.

Based Blair got 412 (four hundred and twelve) seats in 1997. Blair would have absolutely DESTROYED May, so much that there would have been no need to even carry out the election at all.

For the love of God PLEASE get our Tony back in Downing Street.

Why is 40% of our electorate fucking retarded?

>industrial scale paki pedophile gangs roaming Labour councils completely above the law
>higher council tax, unemployment and educational achievement across all Labour councils in comparison
>Socialism proven countless times across multiple continents to lead to economic ruin and disaster
>Old Labour leads to the UK having to be bailed out by the IMF with corspes left to rot ouside morgues because everyone was on strike
>New Labour go from a surplus to a near on banking clapse and a public sector spending deficit that still hasn't been balanced 9 years later.

And yet 40% of normies are hoodwinked by FB and The Mirror et el into believing this time, socialism could work. I don't get how people can be this blindingly ignorant of the workd around them.

Exactly. This whole attempted powrr grab against May is a massive and coordinated attempt by pro-EU Labour and Tory politicians because, weak as she may be, she is the only one considering seriously withdrawing from the EU, as the puvlic had voted.

Tories won't call another election even if May is ousted. Boris will do a Gordon Brown and hold out until the end of the parliament's mandate (2022) because he knows any election held within the next year will be a Labour victory.

The most amazing thing IMO about this election is just how much influence the media has lost. The Sun and Daily Mail pretty much accused Corbyn of being in bed with IRA and jihadi terrorists and Labour still gained seats. The media is completely out of touch, it's fucking embarrassing.

We all know 40% of Brits aren't Marxist, maybe 3-4% of people are tops. People are just sick and tired of having a government of rich people for rich people with everyone else in a free-for-all just to get by.

No faggot, if your labour is only worth 1 loaf of bread an hour and the government increases the arbitrary number attached to your purchasing power, all you get is a larger number attached to your loaf of bread. The only way to increase purchasing power is either lower the cost of goods or increase the value of labour naturally which both require an improvement in economy, a difficult task regardless.
Increasing minimum wage is just a cheap cunts trick to win retards votes who like to see bigger numbers then get angry when their cupboards still aren't full with M&S food.
